Mis expectativas de 5 estrellas son altas. ¡Estas cabañas son geniales! Disfruté mucho de mi estancia. Personal fabuloso, buena ubicación. Algunas cosas que, en mi opinión, lo acercarían más a las 5 estrellas: jarras de agua rellenables en lugar de plástico, bombillas más suaves y ayuda con el equipaje. También hay un letrero en la habitación con wifi y algunos otros detalles. Sin duda, volveré.

First time we stayed at Balacar and the Blue Bird is awesome. You have to consider this is a remote small town so don’t expect resort accommodations. Hotel has bungalows with A/C, super cute, super clean and the staff is super nice so I would say they have everything you need. Breakfast maybe included but remember this is served at Bacalar time, around 9-11am and it’s light, fresh fruit, coffee and toast. If you’re early people like us, you can drive around 10 minutes to get to the main square and a block away you can find a Panaderia which serves coffee and sweets or sandwiches always handy if you’re going on tour. They have a great waterfront location, where you can swim, a sandbar just across and it’s really close to Cenotes Azul, Esmeralda and Cocalito. The Blue Bird has free kayaks and paddle boards you can use. Beware of the lagoon itself, three cenotes or sinkholes are in the lagoon so people have died swimming, kayaking or paddleboarding due to the currents, some of these cenotes are 200-300 feet deep and their overflow has fill up the lagoon. You want to use the equipment during the morning while the water is super calm but still have to wear lifejacket at all times. Hotel close its door at night but you can contact the front desk if you need to do a late check in or you’re back after 9pm. This is not a party town but you can still have wonderful time and food is delicious. Hope to be back to Bacalar and stay at the Blue Bird again!

Le cadre est superbe et la location des canoë très pratique. MAIS, nous étions dans la chambre qu’ils appellent familiale : minuscule, rien pour poser les affaires, pas une table et chaises sur la terrasse qui est certes très petite. Le petit déjeuner est très spartiate (à condition de payer pour avoir plus), mais rien pour les enfants (des fruits; mais pas un jus de fruit ou chocolat au lait à boire). Je recommande pas pour un séjour en famille

Increíble servicio de todo el personal, en especial de Esmeralda, la cual, fue muy amable al contestar nuestras dudas y nos recomendó lugares para conocer. Fuimos en viaje de pareja y todo fue perfecto. Las habitaciones son bonitas y prácticas, la estancia incluye el desayuno básico y tiene diferentes opciones a agregar con costo extra. Al igual, están incluidos los kayaks y las tablas paddle, lo cual es perfecto porque puedes realizar las actividades en la laguna a tu propio ritmo. Las tomamos para ir a ver el amanecer por nuestra cuenta y fue increíble, está muy bien ubicado, así que fue fácil encontrar el punto perfecto para disfrutarlo sin inconvenientes, justo frente al puerto del hotel hay un punto bajo donde tocas el suelo sin problemas, fue perfecto para pasar el rato y tomar fotos! Si desean tours pueden preguntar en recepción las opciones hacer las actividades con un guía. En resumen, recomiendo ampliamente hospedarse aquí!

Beautiful spot with direct lagoon access

Stayed here for just one night on our way from Chetumal to Tulum, had a great time. We arrived earlier than check in and they were happy for us to use the facilities while our room was prepared. It’s an absolutely beautiful spot, with lush greenery right through the cabins, then direct access to the beautiful lagoon. The free kayaks were fun, we took some around to a nice swimming spot. Staff were super friendly and helpful, helping us change money and call taxis when we needed it. Overall, loved our short stay.

Clairement nous payons la localisation plus que le prestige du logement. Beaucoup d'humidité fait qu'il y a une odeur constante nauséabonde dans l'habitation. Les meubles et la robinetterie de la salle de bain sont en très mauvais état. Le voilage blanc qui cache le toit en paille est très sale et est pleins d'animaux et insectes morts et desséchés. Nous avons dû aller à la réception à 22h parce qu'un cafard avait fait irruption dans notre chambre, en passant par le toit. Heureusement le réceptionniste était vraiment très gentil et est venu nous aider. Contrairement à la plus part du personnel qui était très froid et peu souriant, et agissait avec nous comme des robots. Je déplore aussi le manque d'un restaurant le soir... Pour le prix d'une nuit (190$ CAD), nous attendions un peu plus. Nous avons fait des hôtels bien moins chers avec beaucoup plus de prestations.

Muy bonito y acogeedor hotel, lo recomiendo mucho. Tiene Todo en UN Lugar tan pequeno y hermoso, su restaurante y su bar super exelente. El Mueller con SUS columpios y su hamaka sobre la Laguna es genial, mesas para sentarse y mirar la Laguna y lo que mas me gusto que los kayaks son gratis.Muy limpias las villas. Muy super lindos y amables todo el personal del hotel. Muy bonitos jardines de dia y de Noche.

Bonne adresse

Très joli petite cabane, au bord de la lagune, avec 2 pontons et prêt de kayak. Tout etait parfait, seul un petit bemol pour le petit-déjeuner qui est assez sommaire : pain, beurre, confiture, fruits, café (pas de thé ni de jus de fruit et si vous voulez des oeufs, c'est en supplément, mais très bon ;-)
