The town itself is a bit humdrum. However, Durham is nearby and it’s absolutely beautiful. We loved visiting the Cathedral and walking around the town
Amazings room, friendly staff. And just the attention to detail in the decor for a room in castle was outstanding. Didn't see any ghosts :(

When we arrived we saw immediately that the sofabed in the lounge was broken and could not be used to sit or sleep on, this was disappointing as it meant there were not enough beds for us all. We contacted the owner and the next day a chap arrived with an airbed. We requested that the sofa be replaced ...
