We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and having a blast in Taman in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean pair of socks and a magazine or two. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a pocket knife lurking in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive products, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and pack a sweater as it tends to get cool in the cabin on long-haul flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also recommended.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long-haul is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To avoid this, make the most of every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help reduce this risk.
