• It's simple — first, pack in your passport, official ID, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. • For just a few moments, you'll need to unplug from technology. Your laptop, phone and any other electronics must also be sent through the scanner.
• Any gels or liquids, such as perfume or toothpaste, that you want to take on board must be no greater than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). They must also all fit inside a quart-size (one liter), clear zip-lock bag.
• It's also possible you'll be asked to remove your shoes for scanning, so wearing slip-on shoes is always a wise idea.
• Airlines won't allow any sharp or pointed objects to come on board with you. If you must bring these kinds of items, pack them in your checked luggage.
