If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be testing. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these helpful hints and enjoy a comfortable start to your time in Baoji. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Pick flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To lower your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your legs and feet often.
