Last minute flight cancellation

Night manager was nice. The hotel- Stained and worn carpets throughout hallways. Elevator barely worked. No soap in the rooms. Close to airport was a plus.

The step there was very accommodating they knew I came down from New York and worked with me so I could check in early. They made sure I had everything I needed and were extremely kind and pleasant throughout the entire stay.

Do not stay here! The hotel is falling apart. The building smells strongly of cigarettes and at check in the employee said “I’m going to waive your pet fee because sometimes we have problems like not having towels or soap.” She gave me a room that was bare, dirty, and also reeked of cigarette smoke with two hand towels we were expected to use as bath towels. This is not a safe place to stay - especially if you are alone. We immediately checked out and got a full refund and found a safe, clean place 15 minutes away.

The hotel seemed to be fairly clean but very old and desperately in need of restoration. The price was very good, though, and I would stay there again even though the free breakfast consisted of coffee and packaged oat meal or plain toast.

Looked like the floors hadn’t been vacuumed in a month. Questionable people hanging out in lobby. People hanging out in hallways. Did not feel safe.

The staff is very polite and hard working. This facility is under renovation, however any issues discussed with the staff is handled promptly and professionally. Rates are very affordable, restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores and pharmacies are within walking distance or a quick Uber away.

TVs did not work in the entire hotel, no wash clothes, whole place is very dirty. People hanging out in the hallways… laying on the floor etc. Pulled out ac filters because ac was struggling to find thick black mold on the filters. Just not a good place for anyone to stay

Not as bad as the EconoLodge across the street. Everything was run down, filthy, and broken, but after one night at the EconoLodge, it looked good by comparison. The staff was very nice and responsive, however.

I had been to this motel before. I think it was under new management. In the room, the window curtain had been tore down and not replaced. Also there was a drop of blood on the bathroom floor. The bed was great! I slept wonderful

You will get a honest review from me. They didn’t provide the continental breakfast as said for a very understandable reason DUKE POWER gets all the food at 6am they can have it GOD BLESS those men still working in those conditions. There are still working hard, supporting the devastation in the mountains in North Carolina . Near chimney rock and the black mountain region of North Carolina. You get what you pay for. For 60$ the hotel is going to be a little louder than the Hilton in Beverly Hills. But the beds were comfortable. And they are under new management. If you expect a 5 star hotel for $60 your are not only stupid but delusional. Lol

The check in was great! Easy. Quick. Friendly attendant. The elevator may be scary to folks not accustomed to a "sketchy situation", but i didnt mind it's disrepair. Theres a certain charm to willing riding an elevator that you see screws on the ground underneath a detached handrail upon entry. The stairway has been converted (by whom, im not sure) into a bathroom/living room. Fortunately for us, we got to walk all the way down from the fourth floor. After the first time, we actually did it again, you know, to remember the experience by taking a video. So far, the water runs hot, the room is(fairly) clean, and the hotel seems to be fairly "quiet", despite it's relative proximity to the highway and restaurants. My girlfriend and i agree, solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️ experience.

Looking forward to it becoming a Hilton Spark.

There was a lot of night traffic coming and going thr side doors, some yelling by a woman, help me & my rm phone didnt work so I couldnt call for help at end of hall. Noisy cars coming and going and people in the back at nt. sitting in cars. No quilt on my bed. Had to go twice to get one. TV didnt turn on, bedside light broken. Shower hardware worn so oscillating cold hot temps. Great day staff and General Manager very kind, thorough. Thank you! Not well rested. Moved to another Hotel. Spark Hilton will gut and reno and set new safe, healthy, pleasant environment soon.

I didn’t like —the coffee pots in lobby were empty and when asked-was told no one was there who could make more. Room 435 has a broken vanity cabinet-it falls down at will-very disgusting the phone in room 435 doesn’t work and you could not reach the front desk. I had to go to front desk to make my needs known. Very much disappointed in the room and facility. The lady at check in was friendly enough and the lady she got from housekeeping was very helpful in bringing extra towels, coffee packets and extra bedding. I believe her name was Dawn or Jessica. She gets a thumbs up

Check in was fine, pretty quick. Room was average at best. Had I not arrived so late and was only there for about 8 hours, I would have asked to swap rooms. 1. The window shade was broken, would not pull down. Was not able to darken the room to sleep well 2. There was a whirring/pulsing sound every few seconds that went on all night, could not figure out where it was coming from. It was not coming from the HVAC unit, it actually worked well. 3. The toilet did not completely flush first time, had to flush multiple times 4. There were no toiletries, just a small bar of soap. I asked for some at the desk and was given a 3 pack of body wash bottles to install on the wall in the shower. Better than nothing but I should not have had to put them in the shower. 5. The breakfast was about what I expected (bagels, toast, cereal), which was fine with me. However, there was nothing to drink except coffee. The juice and water machines were empty. Not everyone drinks coffee. I would have been fine with water but there was not even that. 6. The TV service did not work. The guide and everything was there but would not tune to anything. I do not ask for much but this was by far one of the worst stays anywhere in quite a while. I definitely was not expecting a 5 star room, but this was barely a 1 star at best. Positives were the bed was clean and comfortable, the room/bathroom were clean, and I did not see any bugs.
