Everything was very clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. The only negative thing I can say is that the restaurant menu was outdated and mislabeled. The menu listed several items as being gluten free but when I questioned the very nice server, he said none of those items are actually gluten free. Very disappointing since finding somewhere to eat is challenging enough and I would have chose somewhere different to eat. I will say the side salad, baked potato, plain grilled chicken were very good and my husband said his pizza was really good. The wonderful server did say that the restaurant was aware and had recently hired new management and they were updating the menu.

We arrived at 930 the doors was locked, I rang the bell like 5 times then I saw a guy talking to the guy at the desk so I pounded on the door.. He comes out and says they lock it at 9 and the buzzer doesn't work... I asked if I go out can I get back in with my card? He says no.. Im a smoker so I can't go out and smoke.. Then I get to the room, no remote so I tried to call down but no luck so I go down he g8ves me a remote. I take it to the room and it will turn the TV on and off but that's it. So I called down (asked for the extension) so he says he has another, so I go get it and doesn't work either.. I asked for a different room but says the other rooms has no TV!! It wasn't like it was sold out! Then this morning I walked out and I n 3 times without the front desk saying nothing at ALL not Good Morning nothing was to wrapped up in her phone or the computer. She is the front desk Great your costumers! The midnight gal was GREAT! She told me I could go out and she would watch for me to come back in! I think her name was Amanda!! The breakfast crew was GREAT!!

The staff the people were awesome! Very helpful and cheerful! All was good BUT our bathroom. It was a bad experience. Faucets kept dripping and shower was a complete disaster! Only very hot water came out of shower! Finally got our room lady to help and got it to run warm but could not adjust. Shower head was all messed up and bad. Need full bathroom restoration! We almost left your place but our room lady saved the day by getting shower to rum warm not HoT! We will not be coming back.

Everyone, from the front desk to housekeeping, was so very nice. The hotel has a beautiful view from the top of the hill it sits on looking down into Roaring River State Park. The hotel restaurant has large windows along one whole wall to take advantage of the view.

I love staying at Roaring River, it's a great environment and very family friendly. This was the first time for us to be staying at the Emery Melton inn. It was an okay stay. Most of the staff was friendly with the exception of one staff member.

Front desk and housekeeping staff were helpful and very pleasant! Loved receiving a pre-stay call from the lodge after I booked and appreciated the friendly welcome we received. Room was recently renovated and beds were very comfortable but the room was very dark (not enough lamp light) and there weren’t enough outlets near the beds for chargers. The restaurant was comfortable and staff was so helpful. But the breakfast of scrambled eggs was unfortunately too greasy for me to eat. There was also a lingering smell in the room and hallways - old smoke? damp, musty, mold? I don’t know but it did impact the pleasantness of our stay. Thank you for allowing me to review our stay.

Minor Issues but Happy w/ Stay

The lodge is amazing, the room was comfortable. There was no ice available unless you got it from the kitchen due to the ice machines being out of service. Our fridge in our room broke while we were out for the day so we lost the few perishable items we had in it, had to get a new fridge. The TV remote didn't work properly, nor did the replacement. Overall the staff was very receptive to our issues and worked to resolve, no staff complaints at all! The food in the restaurant was outstanding and reasonably priced and the service there was excellent. Even with the issues we will definitely return.

Room was very clean, staff was friendly, my only complaint and it definitely will prevent me from returning was…. I was abruptly awakened by the loudest siren! From tornado alley myself I thought my morning was about to be a disaster. It was the siren for the dam opening. Would have appreciated a warning that it could have even help me from panicking.
