"Poor don't stay. First of all, their map location on the hotels.com booking and Google is wrong. It takes you somewhere else. 2nd, they don't answer the phone. Apparently the number on the booking, even after you choose the menu options to speak to this hotel, doesn't ring them. 3rd the room is too hot, and it's only about 5c outside. 4th At pas 11pm there were other guests having a massive argument, shouting, swearing and crying while me and child were trying to sleep. Finally, this morning, found the mattress protector on the bed had dried blood on it, and hairs, that are definitely not ours. Do not recommend."

"We booked a superior double room, which is in theaon building. It was very tatty and in need of painting and updating. Very dated with a lack of plugs near the bed, none near the dressing table to plug in the hairdryer. One usb port. Dirty window dressings. A really old, dirty and damaged devine base. Breakfast was ok at best, not much choice and the mini chocolate muffins were dry or stale. The coffee was absolutely dreadful. The hash browns were oily and also not crisp because they had sweated to death underneath a cover. Scrambled eggs were like rubber. On a plus note the staff were great and the grounds had an amazing swimming pool. It was some and done for us overall and a premier inn is better! "

"Bonsall is a beautiful, serene village and Ann's B&B is just splendid. There are two things which are simply amazing- the spacious bathroom and the sumptuous breakfast! Ann served us a delicious veg breakfast that was the best we have ever had!"

"I loved the place, I was welcomed with a welcome package with tea and supplies. It was a 245 year old cottage so it has a few “features” which I loved the most about the place. I loved the three story staircase which was very good cardio. I’d love to stay again wonderful "

"The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. Check-in was easy and, although we originally planned to stay for a couple of days, we were made so welcome, decided to stay for two more. Our day always started with an excellent and leisurely breakfast which really set us up for a day of exploring and visiting attractions. There is lots to see and do in the local area; you can dive underground into some of the local guided cave attractions, ride in vintage cars, trams and trains, or fly through the air in a cable car. Back at The Bear Inn and after a full day out, you can wind down with the delights of a superb and varied menu, all washed down with well kept ale. The Bear Inn is a really old coaching house, steeped in history; lots of small rooms with exposed beams and fireplaces, make for a cozy and comfortable place to stay or just eat out. So, the next time we looking for places to stay in Derbyshire, The Bear Inn is right at the top our list. "
