"Fantastic base for the lake district. Staff were all really friendly. Site was quiet. No being woken up at night or in the morning. Leisure facilities were decent for a small site. My child had fun in the hour fun session they have in the pool. Crazy golf, ping pong, tennis and a playground for younger kids. The watersports centre is resonably priced. One of my children did kayaking and another the sofa jet ski type thing lots of fun had. The restaurant was nice enough, standard pub food and very decent prices. The lodges themselves were modern and had everything you would need. Only negative was the hairdryer set on fire and nearly singed my hair but reception apologetic. Dining table had crumbs on when we arrived so cleaned down but other than that really impressed and would definitely consider returning. "

"Lovely stay at the Homestead, Maria & Kevin were perfect hosts. Lovely room on top floor with ever so comfortable bed and everything you wanted in room & bathroom. Breakfast was amazing, would love to come back in the future."

"Accommodation was average but the cleanliness let it down. The bedding was clean and fresh but we had old tea spashes on the unit and also someone's old toilet usage was still stick to the pan. "Wasn't the nicest thing to have to clean when I've paid to stay at a hotel" overall would I stay again. Yes I probably would as it may have been a one off... Some of the furniture and decor had seen better days too "

"Lovely room, spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed Nice size bathroom with complimentary soaps, shampoos etc All rooms on first floor so could be an issue if you have mobility problems Royal hotel bar/ restaurant quite busy so would recommend booking if you want to dine in. Food quality was excellent and a great service given. Decent size car park across the road, always found a space to park even when it was busy in the bar I would have no hesitation staying here again if I am in the area"
