"What a great stay. Kevin and Maria were very attentive, warm, and hospitable. This was our first night in UK after a long flight and felt like home. The accommodations were very nice and the king room was so cozy. The bed slept great and had everything we needed. The breakfast was first class but also made us feel like we were staying with family! Thanks for the great stay."

"Lovely homely hotel/pub. Staff very friendly and the food was excellent. Great location for a stop on the way to Scotland as not far off of the motorway. Beautiful area."

"Had a light large room with en suite, if you want fancy then this is not for you, the couple running it are very easy to talk to and very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was good, right in the centre of town. "

"Staff were all without exception excellent and special mention for Mark who drove us around Cartmel even when we were supposed to be walking!!! Both of the managers were extremely helpful too if there were concerns - food at breakfast was fresh and delicious - lovely stay!!"

"This is a 5 star BnB, set in beautiful gardens and farming land, very quiet (except for the occasional RAF trainer jets during the day) and elegantly appointed. Close enough to town but away from the madding crowd!
Of our 4 weeks travel thus far, this has been the standout."

"There seems to be no mobile phone coverage at the County Lodge Carnforth.
When I arrived at 8.30pm 25/5 the door was locked shut, the place was in darkness and a note attached to the door said to phone a mobile number to gain code keys and access BUT their number failed to ring. Tried multiple times, including 100m away in 3 directions. A landline number was given on the accommodation door, this also failed to ring. The property has not been maintained or looked after, it seemed as though the place had been deserted for months. Car park overgrown and not maintained. I had to find alternative accommodation for the night. The following daytime the front door was still shut and locked in office hours, but I managed to get thro on their mobile number by bringing from a quite different location in town. So I was able to stay the 26/5 night .
Before I left the next day I tried phoning again, but evidently no coverage. I want a refund for the 25/5 night."
"Stay was fabulous but I was expecting lake side villa as per photoes and my aploted house was far down from the lake so, I could barely enjoy the view."
"This property receives variable reviews across various platforms, great reviews and poor reviews alike seem a little unrealistic and the bad ones often ill founded. It is a old and tired property that reuqires a lot of work, the room was small but comfortable. There was a pervading smell of damp (not cooking oil as noted on other platforms) just like home!! wall paper and bathroom had clearly suffered in past. Good breakfast, clean room, friendly accommodating host. When you make a booking at a property which is 25-50% cheaper than any other in the immediate area and includes breakfast what are you expecting? We went in on a budget with low expectations but it was not as bad a we had thought it might be and we had a separate private bathroom having anticipated sharing. Is it the Ritz? No. Would we stay again, undoubtedly, yes."
"Stayed here on 29th May, whilst attending a friends wedding at Wennington Hall. I can honestly say the hospitality was second to none, breakfast was fantastic. Kevin kindly offered his services to pick us up from the venue, no matter how late we decided to stay out till and even run us back in the morning to collect our car when ready. Beds were comfy, especially after a skinful..
I couldn’t fault the stay at all, perfect location if visiting wennington hall, absolutely would stay again.
Thank you for an enjoyable stay, a real gem."
"The hotel was on the main street with shops and pubs all in walking distance. We were able to eat and drink at the Red Dragon. The only drawback was no on site parking so the car had
to be left about 10 minutes walk away. This was the only issue the rest was great."
"A lovely pub with a stunning beer garden and direct access to the canal path for walks to Carnforth Morecambe and Lancaster. Only issue was the heat in the room which I appreciate it was unusually hot but room 3 also has a large noisy extractor fan outside the window so it was either heat or noise. The fan does get turned off at night. Would still stay again and the food was excellent."
