The staff completely ignored me as I stood there to check in. The same happened when i checked out, even though it was different staff then check in was. They were also not enjoyable to speak with, bridging on rude. Do not bother going through the early check in. I did and they still went through the entire check in process again when I went to get the key. It is a waste of time and completely pointless. When I commented on this they gave me no reason why they needed all my info again. The room was very old and run down. The walls especially in the bathroom were not pleasant. The floor was extremely uneven and gave you a dizzy feeling walking on it. The shower faucet was barely on the wall and hard to work. The beds were clean and nice. We used the laundry and they have a Speed Queen washer which worked great. The breakfast was fine.

We had an amazing stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Carlsbad! The staff and housekeeping were very attentive to our needs. The facility was clean, the parking was easy and convenient, and the continental breakfast was perfect — ready for us as we headed out each morning. Overall, five stars! The receptionist who welcomed us was incredibly kind. She even turned on the fireplace for us, which made everything feel so warm and inviting. She never made a fuss about anything we asked for and truly made us feel at home. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hotel staff was great and very customer friendly. The location was close to Legoland. The room was very clean however had to make 3 trips to front desk to swipe/ activate room keycards. Bathroom water was lukewarm.

Our stay at the LaQuinta Inn & Suites ruined our short vacation to the Carlsbad, CA area. Here's why: 1.) We arrived at the La Quinta Inn at 4:40pm. Check-in was advertised as 3:00 pm. When we attempted to check into the room it wasn't ready. The front desk gal said, "please give us another 20 minutes." We did, going back to the front desk after 25 minutes to be told that the room still wasn't ready. The gal gave us the key but asked us to wait to go to the room for another 15 minutes. Finally after waiting, in the car, for almost an hour total, we were able to access our room. 2.) The key cards used to access the room repeatedly needed to be re-programmed after each one-time use. We stayed there three days, and our room was in a separate building from the main lobby. Until I caught on That I needed to go to reception each time after the key was used once , I would help my husband, with dementia, up to the third floor, to our room's door, and leave him there while I hoofed it across the parking lot to reception to get the key re-programmed. I was told that They knew the key cards weren't working properly, they had ordered all new door lock mechanisms, but they were not yet installed. 3.) When I booked the room, nowhere did it say that maid service was only done every three days!!!! So for the three days we stayed, we had no clean replacement towels, no bed made, no trash removed. Our reservation was for four days, but we left a day early. NIGHTMARE!!!

Hot complimentary breakfast was outstanding! A full hot breakfast bar with options for breakfast, burrito, waffles, cereals, breads and a variety of drinks. The staff did a great job restocking and making sure food was hot and available. I would stay at this hotel again just for the breakfast, pool and hot tub. My family also enjoyed the two bedroom situation where the two younger children had a separate room with a bunk bed. Allowed us to get a good night's rest for the five nights we stayed here. Water pressure from the showers was a bit low and the sound from the freeway was a little louder than expected, but these were not terrible issues. Our white noise machine helped drown out the noise. 15 minutes away from Legoland and 10 minutes away from the beach and 3 minutes away from the Windmill food hall which had fantastic dining options for dinner. They also passed out mini Lego figs to the kiddos which was thoughtful. For the price that we paid, accommodations were great.
