"Great place to stay. Very clean close to shops places to eat. Bed comfortable. Will stay here again.only thing was the car parking gate was outside bedroom window noisy when opening and closing gate, but highly recommend this place."

"Lovely old hotel. Staff are friendly. I feel the complimenry bottle of wine should be in the fridge not handed to you warm at reception. These little things go along way when staying at a hotel. Also refills in the bathroom need to be checked each time the room is cleaned."

"A top notch experience for our four night stay in a one bedroom apt at East Hotel in Canberra. Underground parking was a key consideration for our stay and it worked well ($20 a night). Very pleasant and helpful staff and a great restaurant (Italian) downstairs where we had both breakfast and dinner a couple of times. Fast wifi. Amazing hot water (the hottest I think we have ever come across, anywhere!). Firm king sized bed with comfortable mattress topper was great. Aircon was effective (its starting to get cold in Canberra in May!). Excellent soundproofing (we were on the 5th floor, directly opposite the "Kingo" hotel (world famous in Canberra). A couple of very minor (1st world) issues. The lighting in the apt was not great for makeup (so my wife told me), though there are plenty of mirrors. There was plenty of clothes storage space (including hanging), though the fact that some of this storage was in the bathroom was a little odd. Kitchen was very well appointed, with a full range of pots and pans (better than almost anywhere else we have stayed in our extensive travels). In apt laundry facilities were top notch (though we didn't use them), with separate washer and dryer. The provision of free and very tasty jellybeans and chocolate sprinkles near reception was a nice touch as well. Overall we couldn't fault the service and amenities for our stay at East Hotel."
