We have had a terrible experience with our hotel booking to Nile Meridien Hotel on 1st to 10th October via Expedia. I did start to get concerned just before we travelled that I could not find a website or Facebook page for the hotel and had received no message via Expedia about our imminent arrival to the hotel. We had seen very mixed reviews and perhaps should have cancelled whilst we had the opportunity, however the hotel being on Expedia gave us the confidence that everything would be OK. On arrival in Cairo our UBER app did not know the hotel location but we knew the address “20 Aisha Taimoria” was next door the Four Seasons so we got a taxi. A security guard at the Four Seasons told us the hotel at “20 Aisha Taimoria” was closed and took us there. On arrival we were met by somebody at the hotel who checked our booking conformation and said that we had been transferred to an apartment building above the Galaxy cinema and that we should go to security at the Galaxy Cinema and take the lift to the 31st floor. Another taxi ride only to find that the Galaxy Cinema was derelict and although there were apartments above the Cinema the 31st floor was just four locked doors and the small corridor was in darkness. This left us stranded and homeless at 2:00am in the middle of Cairo, which could have been a very dangerous situation. Don’t let this happen to you DO NOT BOOK the Nile Meridien Hotel, now called the Nile Meridien Garden City Hotel and if you have booked CANCEL and book

No deberían permitir usar el nombre de meridien hotel , nos equivocamos pensando que fue el verdadero meridien hotel , y para nada . Parece motel más que hotel pero afortunadamente fue solamente 1 sola noche . No fue además para nada barato . Pero esto si nos recordaremos 😀

This is the worst place!! The pictures are edited. The toilet did not work, there were no towels, furniture in every lobby was pilled up, stairs had trash everywhere. It was very unsafe but worse our Uber drove for an hour looking for it. The hotel has changed many names to avoid these bad reviews. I moved hotels...

Good hotel overall

Staff were polite and helpful, rooms were good for this price range, room service is available but you have to ask each time, the location is great for the hotel. Difficult to find the hotel as they own 1 floor of the building and they’re name dosnt appear anywhere. A/C was good in the room and mini fridge as well. Beds comfortable. Shower is ok , tad too small however. I would recommend people stay here not the prettiest from the outside of the hotel especially since there is other big name hotels in the area but saves you so much money and rooms are adequate.

It was “Amazing “ to find out that it is not Meridian hotel I had reserved. It is a small confined to A floor of a commercial building. Check in was good , check in staff Mohammed extra NIce , professional and very knowledgeable. He probably has nothing to do anything with marketing. I had paid for Airport transfer RT, after a long argument only provided one way trip to Airport

So barbel place used the name for mradin hotel but it is apparent in big building. So so bad. I will call when I come home breakfast is so bad we didn’t eaten. The picture in the app it’s not the same we taken

El hotel funciona como tal en los niveles 1 y 2 de la Torre Nilo que se encuentra a un lado del majestuoso Four Seasons Hotel. La primera noche la pasamos mal con mi familia ya que la habitación daba miedo, el techo cayéndose por partes y las sábanas del colchón súper sucias. Al segundo día nos cambiaron a una habitación en el segundo nivel completamente diferente, muy bonita con vista al Nilo y que si se parecía a las fotos publicadas. El lugar cuenta con seguridad, desayuno si muy poco variado.

Hotellet låg på ett fint område. Det kändes tryggt för två kvinnor som åkte ensamma. Personalen var hjälpsamma och trevliga speciellt Mohammed (natt personal). En minus för trafiken som hördes och frukost som var så där.

Not so Hot

First room provided had no windows after kicking upn a storm provided a great room on the top floor with great views. No daily service no replenishment of water tea and sugar.No coffee or milk provided No collection of towels or room /bed making Breakfast was a miserable affair ,unfriendly manager,no coffee no milk ,no fresh fruit juice,buffet breakfast is just tasteless food.

Photos aren't a reflection of reality. 20 min walk to anything!! Congested area... you half to walk up into a dirty building to get to hot. Not well marked at all. Shabby.. unsafe stairs
