You'd be better off sleeping on the sidewalk. I was glad they didn't have a room for us (even though it was pre-paid) so they sent us to their "sister" hotel, The Valencia, a few blocks away (hauling our luggage assisted by on of their staff members) which was just as bad. The towels were wet, the shower daring was clogged, the door lock was broken, they floors had not been mopped in a long while. The "Continental" breakfast was a egg tortilla with no additional ingredients, coffee, and a cup with watermelon. The only good thing was the staff. Horrible neighborhood the attached photos show the view from my room. I checked out after two nights and they refuse to reimburse us for any of the 11 nights we prepaid. They wanted us to move (again) from the Valencia to the Grand Royal. These places should be shut down. Conditions very unhealthy. I am reporting to the Cairo Tourism Police.
