Reception staff were great but the room and bathroom was very small and very poorly layed out. The pool was much colder than the last time we stayed also very noisy with half the pool cordoned off for children's swimming lessons with a very loud instructor! Also cold streams of water pumping into the jacuzzi area. So not the most relaxing time. Quite a few areas need updating. Went to run the bath in the morning and noticed bits and a dirty mark in the bath. Hard bed and thin pillows. A real shame because we are from north Wales and loved the place prior to this visit.
Comfortable room, varied breakfast, a great "old" hôtel, charming

A lovely entry and overall decor of the hotel, apart from in the bedrooms where the decor is dated. This is fine as it is very clean and staff are wonderful. However, mattress was uncomfortable. Not terribly, but I prefer the Premier Inn mattresses.
A fabulous hotel with friendly staff, excellent food with several vegetarian options, comfortable and clean rooms and an easy walk into the town and to the castle.
