"My partner and I came to Mallorca and the Universal Cabo Blanco from the US to see the eclipse. We couldn't have chosen better. The hotel and the town are very quiet and relaxing. Our room faced the ocean and west, so we could literally see the eclipse from our balcony. A big con: for an adults-only hotel, ostensibly catering to couples, the beds sucked. They were comfy, but two separate twins pushed together—and they didn't STAY together. Not conducive to coupling, if you know what I mean. There is only street parking if you've rented a car (we didn't).
The filtered water station in the lobby was GREATLY appreciated and made great use of. The staff of the hotel are amazing, especially the dining room and bar staff. Even the handyman was nice. And the cleaning staff were attentive. (Note to US travelers; bring your own washcloths. They do not exist in this part of the world.) I also really liked the manager on duty that week. We got the breakfast package which was plentiful and set us up for the day. We only ate at the restaurant for dinner once or twice; if you are from the US, the menu is very continental and I wasn't crazy about it, but it was tasty. "Snacks" is really "lunch" and also good, though a tad pricey. Another con: the "beach" is rock and you really need water shoes because the rocks in the water are slippery, but a 20-minute walk gets you to the lovely white sand El Trenc.
Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Highly recommend."
