We stayed at the Ocean View Motel for just the one night while passing through Bowen. It's quite a distance from the town centre and any eateries. The motel was good for our one night's stay.

Everything was satisfactory. Love the little extras like plates for meals. Bowls would also be awesome for breakfast cereal. The little tray of wash up items under the hand basin was a lovely thoughtful surprise. Bed cover is a bit old and could do with replacing. Also our neighbours were a bit noisy late at night (after 10) and early morning (before 6). Overall a pleasant overnight stay on our way home. What a beautiful sunrise.

Classic 1960's motel with views! An original gem, very well kept. I hope they never change it. It's a North Queensland icon. It's out of town but very handy if you're staying enroute to somewhere else.

Nice and clean despite being old. Well maintained, looks a bit messy around the office, but does not matter for the comfort of the guests. Nice pool as well. A nice Fish take away 4 minutes drive towards Bowen, great.

Older place with pet friendly vibe. Showing its age but everything was functional. Staff was trying to make our stay good, but we were only there overnight. Cute pool, easy acces from highway, still using physical keys. When you arrive you check in and your keys are in the room. Unusual for US folk, maybe this is common in Australia? We were travelling in a rental car so we were driving up the coast from Sydney, Port Macquarie, Childers, Bowen, Cooktown, Richmond Hill, Emerald, Morere, and back to Sydney. Driving and staying at places like Ocean View made out trip more interesting.
