SOWELL COLLECTION Hôtel du Roi & SPA

"Make sure to book a city view room. Our 3rd floor corner room was spacious with two double beds, a bath and separate shower and most importantly stunning views across the Aude of the Pont Vieux and the old city.
We stayed two nights with breakfast included. Breakfast had a good selection including champagne, much to my wife’s delight, and you could have it in the air conditioned breakfast/restaurant or on the terrace.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay but would reiterate that the view from the balcony was a major factor in our enjoyment. If it’s the same for you make sure to book a city view room. "

"Charming "old world" hotel inside the medieval walled city. Front desk staff was extremely helpful. Enjoyed dinner at the hotel one night. Nice breakfast buffet. Loved sitting outside on the sofas with a cold glass of wine in the afternoon. "

"I liked:
The location, just before the bridge to the Forteresse, and with a nice overall view of the Forteresse from my balcony.
A large very nice room. The balcony with nice vegetation.
A really full buffet breakfast (North American style but with great croissants, etc)
Staff that were nice and helpfull.
I walked everywhere, from and to train station, to restaurants, to the Forteresse."

"The apartment was spacious. 1 bedroom, and sofa bed in living/kitchen area. Very clean and great air-conditioning. Kitchen/cooking area was basic but adequate for a short stay. Reception was welcoming and spacious. Staff were very pleasant and nothing was any bother. Breakfast was self service with good choices of cheese, bread and pastries. Parking was reasonable at 10 euros per night in a secure under building car park. The hotel was very close to the "old city" and the city centre. Both within easy walking distance. "
