"It's easy to stay at a generic box type hotel.
The Strand has pedigree (See Raffles and E&O). It's a beautiful building with high ceilings. Beautifully decorated and clean. Very pleasant staff. Quiet and tranquil.
Stay here for your first visit to Yangon, and you can always stay at a generic, branded hotel on a subsequent visit."

"they are having standard room like rats box, no windows. When I asked for room with windows, they try to charge me extra 10$, finally I pay 5$ overcharge. Avoid at any cost, around are plenty of similar hotels with lower prices."

"Two words . BLACK MOLD.
After my first night my chest was hurting and i couldn't understand why. The second night it felt like i was coming down with something and i started coughing up green phlegm. I was out all day and wheni came back to the room i was in pain again. I looked all over and then shine my flashlight into the Air Conditioner duct. It was COMPLETELY COVERED IN BLACK MOLD. i took a video and went down to show them. They Started looking for other rooms to put me in. After seeing it in the 3rd room as well i said no way and checked out of the hotel. I now have a lung infectioni am fighting because of this place. STAY AWAY FROM HERE."
"The hotel is super nice with great new staff, limited food in the hotel and activities, should consider another social bar or club area as the hotel is very big, maybe even a night club. No hot tub, no 24 hour activity kinda makes no sense as staff stay overnight anyway. "
"This is my first stay at Excelsior. I have a fondness for Myanmar heritage hotels. The welcome was seamless and friendly. The room is very clean. I like the firm pillow and comfortable bed. Overall, the room was well equipped. This property is highly value-for-money recommended. I shall come back again.
