"The hotel and surrounding area was like its own suburban location with a city feel. Lots of dining, shopping and entertainment options. Safe and walkable. The room was clean and spacious. The toiletries were high quality. Staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful. Gym facilities are clean and spacious. Entertainment and activities by the pool were chill and suffice. Small lagoon at the Oceanside (non adults only) was the perfect opportunity to feel like you’re taking a dip in the ocean but without the heavy waves or current. Flamingo island was easily accessible and a quick trip by boat. Plenty of space and beach chairs, etc. palapas. Place to eat, drink and shop. Kayaks. Etc. highly recommend this resort for the Caribbean feel without the hustle and bustle of the nightlife and the crowds downtown. "

"We stayed at Vistalmar to kick off our honeymoon and loved every minute. It’s very private, all the pools are so neat, the private beach dock is BEAUTIFUL, and the most surprising but fun perk was the dogs!!! There’s a lot of friendly, calm dogs throughout the property that add to the experience. One even escorted us to and from the nearby bar one night hahaha In terms of quality, the rooms are clean, they smell nice, and the public areas are kept very pristine as well. Everyone on the property is friendly. Angelique was very responsive to any issues via WhatsApp, both during and after our stay. Even though you can hear the planes coming in and out of the island, it never felt too loud or disruptive. My husband would only hope that there’s a way to get fresh towels or our sheets changed if we were to stay longer next time. But we loved it and hope to stay there again! "

"Boy did we get lucky picking this place. The location is outstanding, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and most of all, the family that runs the hotel is so so so lovely. I want to write paragraph after paragraph about how much we enjoyed our stay here, but I also want to make sure that people read it and also chose to stay here, so I’ll just keep it to this: it’s right on the water, and you can see lots of interesting fish, and even a sea turtle here and there snorkeling right by where you eat breakfast (which is also lovely and includes visits from several named iguanas that visit for snacks from the cook each morning). We’ll be back, and I don’t want to stay anywhere else on the island. "
