「This hotel had the feel of an old 1980s hotel that had been poorly maintained over the years by the owners. The room was clean but on our second morning we weren't able to have a shower because the shower didn't work. The tap water was also like an oven while the beds were like rocks. Despite promising wi-fi this too was non-existent. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok but during our stay there was always a feeling of what was going to go wrong next.」

「The breakfasts were very good different and well cooked and presented, the buffet had the usual but also water with lemons and homemade jams, fruit and yoghurts. But the homemade bread was fabulous. The only fault I could point out was that the duvet was very heavy, which is my preference for a lighter duvet.」

「There was no signage for the car park as it was through a narrow gap behind the hotel. I was given the key to the room, which I was told was through a door to the right of reception. On going through the door I found I was outside in the poring rain with again no signage. I went back into the hotel and found a lovely lady who was cleaning, who I asked where room 225 was. She took me back outside and showed me my room was in the wooden single story building opposite, the entrances to these...

「This was a great and affordable cabin and it was in an awesome, quiet area just south of the caringorms national Park. The owner is a real gentleman and the tavern he runs has amazing steak pies. Would stay again 」
