"The staff was very nice & answered any question that I asked. The rooms were decent-ish. You can tell they’ve been remodeled to an extent but the paint was peeling the bathroom, you could see the nails in the floor boards & the shower didn’t look overly clean. Also - 3"

"LOCATION - 5 Stars - Great, especially if visiting UC Berkeley; next to restaurants and shops and steps away from the University STAFF - 2 Stars - There were only 2 or 3 young girls at the front desk that we met during our 3 day stay. All of them looked unhappy at their job and seemed a better fit at a Thrift Store. CLEANLINESS - 3 Stars - much to be desired, specifically in the bathroom. Let's just say I was not about to use the bathtub. Throughout the room and bathroom, it looked like a deep clean was much needed. RESTAURANT - 4 Stars - Nothing spectacular, my salad was not fresh, but prices were reasonable and the service was fast. OTHER - 3 Stars - There was a very strong smell in the lobby, which I could not say what it was - candle or something else. While the decor in the lobby was interesting and inviting, it seemed that students and random people could just come in, buy a coffee and sit there using their computers. The room was a good size (we had the corner Campenile view) however, it did not feel clean, there was no pen, not even a single piece of paper to write a note. The Front Desk lobby area did not have any interesting materials on the area, what to do or see and I was not about to ask the front desk ladies, they did not inspire much confidence. There was no concierge either. Overall good location, but not even a 4 Star hotel."

"I always enjoy my time at the Claremont. This time I did not rent a car and the only thing I missed was access to a nearby store to pickup essentials. A small gift shop would be something to consider."

"The staff were very friendly and fast with checking in and out. The hotel looked very nice and our room was clean. One elevator was out of service, and the other elevator was quite slow, but worked. Our biggest problem was that the bed was very uncomfortable and there was essentially no soundproofing between the floors. The person on the floor above us stomped around a lot during the night and slammed the doors as well, which kept us up later than we would've liked. There was also a good deal of noise in the morning from inside the hotel and outside that also woke us up earlier than we'd have liked. Between that and the uncomfortable bed, we didn't get much sleep at all. We stayed on a Sunday night, so we were not expecting it to be that noisy. I'd hate to hear it on a Saturday. The area felt pretty safe, though there was a homeless person yelling outside on Monday morning for a little bit. But otherwise it seemed fine. This hotel is a short walk away from the mall area and was very convenient. Also only about a twenty minute Lyft ride to The Greek Theatre in Berkeley. The shower was also very nice. They have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles attached to the shower wall, and all smell very good."

"The front desk staff didn't explain anything. I happened to walk by a half hour later and another guest was getting a completely different experience. The room was adequate. AC worked well. Bed was comfortable. Overpriced breakfast was the main reason for knocking off a star."

"My stay began on a happy note—I really appreciated the hotel’s convenient location, with a nearby gas station for essentials and a short walk to a shopping center with stores like Marshalls, Ross, Trader Joe’s, and a few banks. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted with professionalism and kindness by the front desk clerk, Eric. Check-in was quick and seamless, which I truly appreciated. My room was clean and comfortable, with a view of the freeway that I personally didn’t mind at all. Later, when I wanted to enjoy a relaxing bath, I had a bit of trouble with the bathtub stopper. After trying a few times, I went downstairs for assistance, and Olga (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly) went above and beyond to help me. Thanks to her, I was able to fully enjoy a peaceful bubble bath. Overall, my experience at the hotel was wonderful. The front desk staff—Ancerea, Olga, and Eric—were all incredibly welcoming and provided exceptional service, especially during my birthday staycation. I would absolutely choose this location again and look forward to staying at Hilton properties in the future."
