"I do like this hotel, despite the hiccup(s) we had at the onset of check-in. I would like to send a thank you to Ilayda, who eventually got us checked into our room. She went well above and beyond and it did not go unnoticed. She not only corrected the issues but also made up for the mishaps, immediately. Ilayda wanted to assure us that our stay at Ghent Marriott Hotel, would be as great as we expected it…and because of her, it finally was. Our room was nice and spacious. Staff is nice and friendly. Breakfast was good, I just wished they served waffles as part of the buffet breakfast. We sat at the bar 2 nights in a row, and had drinks…the lobby/bar area is beautiful. Victoria, did check on us after we checked out of our room, as we sat in the lobby waiting for our ride to the train station. She did seem very genuine, in asking about our stay…which I appreciate. However, Ilayda saved the day and our stay. "

"We were most happy with the accommodation, close to the train station and many choices for restaurants close by. A bit of a walk to the historic district, but it was only 20 minutes. There were choices for local bus transportation if you chose. The room was spacious and clean, the service was timely and prompt. We extended our stay twice for two extra days. We would make this our preferred accommodation on return."

"Great location. The Queen Studio for five was perfect for the two of us — spacious, comfortable, and definitely worth recommending if you have the budget. The bed was very comfortable and the room felt big enough to properly relax in. Check-in and check-out were both quick and smooth, and we really appreciated being allowed to check in early. There’s also a vending machine and plenty of lockers available, which was convenient. Only downside was the limited amenities: small 40ml bottles of shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner, plus only USB outlets by the bed, so we had to use the kitchenette sockets for charging."

"Rooms, lobby, stairways, and hallways were all clean and safe. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Great location right near train station. There is no elevator if that is important."
