Fabulous stay, we also ate in the bar Friday evening and food was delicious.
Room really spacious, clean and had everything we needed.
Breakfast was cornflakes so we drove out.
Church clock across chimes on the hour, every hour. We did get used to it
Recently started working in the area, ended up a coming back most weeks… The rooms are comfortable, nice bedding and well lit (I know this is important to ladies doing make-up). The bar area has a friendly, homely feel about it. The food is great and presented well, breakfast is quick and very accommodating - even provided me with a bacon & egg sandwich in a take away bag one morning when I was running late…
All this for a very reasonable price compared to what I have spent in the area, this hotel deserves a “Superb” rating - only thing that disappointed me recently was not booking soon enough and I couldn’t stay here - you’ll have to find my review of where I ended up to read about that unpleasant experience! Note to self, book The Limes earlier!
Excellent hotel. Really nice landlord. Excellent food and drink in the pub itself. Overall, loved it!

On site parking was good as was the evening meal. Communication between members of staff failed so missed out on breakfast which was a shame. Room querky but comfortable
Everything about the stay exceeded my expectations. The staff were very friendly, the room quiet and comfortable and in an ideal location for me. The village itself is very quiet which allowed me to get four good nights sleep which was needed whilst working in the area
I love the rooms they are so comfortable and quirky.
The staff are lovely and the food is fab.
This is a quiet and picturesque village a great place to be so close to the city
I arrived after a long day at work to a warm welcome and a cosy comfortable room, where I could have a quiet relaxing soak in the bath before dinner. The best part about The Bell is the food - dinner was amazing and breakfast was excellent. If you like quirky charming village pubs, this place is worth a try.

Food was good.... bedroom not so great with very dark bathroom and no lighting apart from 1 ceiling light.... difficult to do lenses and make up. Loo roll holder was hopeless....a big wheel which produced 1 sheet then cut your hand!

Lovely little pub with rooms in a very nice peaceful village.
The bar and restaurant have a really nice relaxing ambience and the drinks, food and service were excellent!
Couple of small niggles with a loose door handle and the shower that started blocking up a bit but generally a very pleasant and relaxing stay!!
Really great find and excellent value for money. Stylish and comfortable with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I requested a vegetarian cooked breakfast and it was amazing! A lovely lady cooked it for me and as I was travelling alone she chatted to me over breakfast which was a pleasant start to the day. Rooms spacious, dark, quiet and recipe for a wonderful nights sleep.

we were locked out of this hotel on returning from wedding at 11pm.. no briefing on check in - no note explaining how to access room - no staff in entire hotel at night - eventually accessed room after rummaging around unsecured bar in dark and finding a set of keys to guest area - luckily ne key worked !! no management no owner present terrible and stressful experience - all other guest arrived after us and were blissfully unaware of what we had to do - on asking them none had been briefed on how to gain access after all staff gone - this is disgraceful
Great pub with comfortable rooms. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Superb setting, lovely building, nice staff - food was good albeit not exceptional (in view of the cost). Stayed for three nights in the 'Eco room' (room 3), one of two rooms in a separate building out the back - nicely decorated, bed was really comfortable - slept really well, useful fridge in the room, bathroom was a bit of a let down though (in need of some maintenance) - old, squawky extractor fan, some paint lifting off the walls, sealant lifted around the bath, biggest issue though was the location of the toilet - wedged between the bath and a wall - bigger people than myself would find this a real struggle.

The room was comfortable if a little tired in places (loose door handle, loose towel rail), nice hot shower though. Dinner in the restaurant was awesome!
Quiet and tidy room in a separate outside building, the food was good in the restaurant. Only issue was there was no signal on the TV . The staff and service was good.
The bell is in a very peaceful area , the room itself was very welcoming but unfortunately only had a very thin blanket on and at night the heating gets turned off leaving the room like the Arctic. The shower was a complete non avent with a dribble at best .
Lovely room and bar and restaurant. The lady who checked me in was great. Very comfortable bed. Could hear quite a bit of noise from room upstairs and shower couldn’t decide if it was boiling hot or freezing. Comfortable stay at good price. Will stay again.
Very basic and dated room, walls in need of redecoration (several chips in plaster) lighting inadequate, poor signal. The place was deserted when checking out, even tried phoning before simply leaving key through letterbox. Avoid room 4.

Staff were friendly but room was tired and needs updating. Realised when I went to get into bed there was no quilt on the bed, found it in the wardrobe without a cover on it, I had to use it as it was cold and I couldn’t call anyone to help as no one is around overnight. Very poor!

The room we were allocated was very basic, there was no hair dryer and we were unable to shower due to not being able to open or close the door. We were moved to another room for our second night which was really good. Breakfast was good.
