The hotel is very dated and run down. But it is fairly good for the 2-1/2 star rating it has been assigned. We got what we expected. We stayed because we were in town for the Alabama Homecoming game. Rooms were extremely expensive running minimum 2x - 3x usual pricing - so we knew we were not getting high end accommodation, but weren't prepared to pay more to simply sleep. However, it was clean and quiet. Hot water was plentiful and the bed was comfortable. Room keys had to reset daily as they stopped working. Often no one at front desk.

I stood at the desk for about 20 minutes waiting for the lady at the desk to check us in. I tried yelling for her and everything. You could definitely tell she was asleep. They also don't have hair dryers, so bring your own. The floor in the room was gross, something was spilled in it from the previous people and they didn't clean it up, so it was super sticky. The beds were literally worse than sleeping on the ground. Truly the only reason we stayed is because it was convenient enough for the concert we were attending but wasn't too close to Tuscaloosa that it costed us $500 for 2 days. But overall, not a very good red roof in my opinion.

No coffee in the lobby, no tissues or soap in the bathroom, some crazy requirement for a security deposit. The room was clean and comfortable and that's the best I can say about it.
