Good value for the money

The bed was not the most comfortable, Air con unit didn't appear to be working but as it was cold there was an electric heater in the room so used that. The included breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly. The room cost £64 on a Saturday night for two people including breakfast, well worth the money.

Excessive Road Noise All Night

The Noise from the road was awful, the soundproofing in the rooms is inadequate, from the response at reception this is clearly a common problem

Awful place.

Don’t think I’ve ever written a bad review but this is needed as the hotel has lied about how long we stayed in the room and won’t refund us at all or even offer a partial refund. The hallways and room smelt of cooking. There were dirty plates left outside rooms. The room was freezing when we arrived. The tv didn’t work properly. The beds were not comfortable. We checked out because we couldn’t as a family bear to stay a night here, so we paid to stay elsewhere. The next day we contacted Hotels.com and told them what happened and asked if we could requested a refund because we didn’t stay and ended up booking another hotel but we’re refused as the when Hotels.com contacted The Holiday Inn Express they said we stayed for 10 hours. We didn’t we stayed for 3 and for two of those were were off site looking for somewhere to eat and another place to stay. Terrible.

Look Elsewhere!

This hotel is part of a group I use on a regular basis. On arrival it was clear that the 5th floor of the hotel was being occupied entirely by refugees, asylum seekers, and homeless families as there was a constant trail of food delivery agents arriving at all times of the day and night handing over parcels of food and collecting government sponsored coupons. There were also a large amount of children in the building. We were sitting in the front lounge area and a sex worker who I later confirmed actually lives in the hotel. with her pet dog left the building for work. She was repeatedly dropped off by her pimp in a large black SUV and went up to her room, changed and went out again for another client. This went on all nigh! Whilst I don't have anything against, refugees, asylum seekers, or those using the hotel for legitimate purposes, it was very disappointing to us to find out that these groups were present. If I had known before, we would not have booked this venue to meet.

Good stay for what it is and the location.

Great stay for one night. Parking was included in my rate otherwise it's £10 overnight. Room was facing the road but there was no noise with the window closed. Bed was huge and very comfortable. On the down side, surfaces in the room hadn't been cleaned properly (desk, bedside table) and breakfast had a lack of fruit and scrambled eggs were so pale, I wondered if there were even eggs included. I avoided and stuck to the rest of the cooked breakfast and pastries which were fine. Overall a good stay though.
