A clean, well-run little hotel. On the dated side in terms of decor, if that matters. Solid amenities for tourists looking to save some cash too: fridge, kettle. They also have a nice little breakfast. We loved the location - easy bus to main station, nearby useful trams and ubahn/metro, also walkable (30 min) to Brandenburg Gate / tourist enivrons. Nice little craft cocktail bar on street below. amazing schnitzel place across the street.

The only reason I didn't give excellent is because the hallway and stairs need work. The room itself was bright and comfortable and clean. I feel this prooerty has gotten an unfair rap. It is an older building and not your IBIS but it is fair value downtown AND the host is the nicest and most helpful we have encountered AND there is an excelkent and full breakfastbreakfast

Das Hotel Novalis ist verkehrsberuhigt gelegen in "Mitte", das dient dem Nachtschlaf, ich habe prima geschlafen. Das Zimmer war zweckmäßig & sauber. Das Hotel ist in der Nähe von U- & Straßenbahn, Theater, Museen und Shopping sind z. T. fusslaeufig erreichbar.

The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to many sites and public transportation. The room was basic...small, clean and with its own bathroom/shower. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the hallway smelled like cigarette smoke.

Sympaattisen pieni ja mukava hotelli

Hotelli oli siisti ja sympaattinen. Palvelu oli erinomaista ja koko henkilökunta hyvin palevuhaluista. Myös sijainti oli hyvä, eikä suurille nähtävyyksile ollut pitkä matka kävellä. Ainoa huono puoli oli se, että koska hotelli sijaitsee vanhahkossa asuintalossa, ei siellä ollut ilmastointia, joten helteellä huoneessa oli melko kuuma. Onneksi tuuletin kuitenkin löytyi huoneesta kysymättäkin. Ehdottomasti menisin uudelleen ja suosittelen muillekin.

Hotellrummet var litet, men det var så vi ville ha det - litet och billigt och nära centrum. En tyst och lugn gata kantad av träd, men på en minut var man ute på stora Oranienburgerstrasse och på fem minuter kom man till hållplats för buss och spårvagn. Gott om restauranger och affärer i närområdet. Hotellvärden var vänlig, frukosten bra utan att vara överflödande. TV och gratis wifi. Vi trivdes bra.

Gute Lage; Hotel ist in einem Wohnhaus. Die Waschräume sind sehr klein und in der Dusche gibt es keine Seife oder Waschgel. Die tägliche Reinigung lässt Wünsche offen.

Priceworthy

I stayed for one night and needed to be close to the hospital, so the location was perfect for me. It is also close to Friedrichstraße and there er a lot of good restaurants and cafes in the area. The area felt safe. The service was good and the Hotel old..but then again, I only paid 43€. Despite the unmodern interior, the bathroom was clean and tidy. Would recommend it to someone who don’t want to spend to much money on a hotel.

ein ruhiges Zimmer mitten in Berlin, wenige Meter vom Trubel entfernt. Für mich, durch rheumatische Schübe geplagte ältere Person eine gute Ausgangsposition. Allerdings hätte mir die Treppe noch vor einiger Zeit Probleme bereitet. Wir werden das Hotel wieder buchen und auch weiterempfehlen

One night is fine anywhere. But here was better than anywhere. the sheets seemed clean, the bathroom as well. The smell of smoke in the hall was not to ignore and the sounds of the neighbors pretty startling, but all in all still comfortable. It was more than I wanted to spend for a night in Berlin, but I wanted a private bed. Unfortunately Motel 1 offers a higher standard at a better price, but it was booked out. The location is spectacular. There are many great shops, restaurants and cafes very close by. You also dont need much time to travel to and from hauptbahnhof.
