We enjoyed 5 night stay at the Hotel Ludwig van Beethoven during our recent vacation in Berlin. This little hotel is just a real gem! We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. The room was clean and spotless, the breakfast buffet was one of the best you'll find in Germany for an inexpensive hotel, and the staff were friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel and will stay there again on our next visit to Berlin!

The location for the music gig I was attending, perfect for places to eat. The room was large and very clean,very quiet and staff were helpful and professional. As far as European hotels this stood out as one of the better ones

very accessible from Hauptbahnhof Hamburg. The concert venues are within walking distance. This hotel is just on the edge of the Reeperbahn strip and is quiet. the Bus stops are very close to the front door.

Good location. Close to metro. Great breakfast. The beds were tiny, though. I nearly fell off during my sleep. I could also hear everything from adjacent rooms. Not particularly comfortable, but fine for my short stay.

Nice hotel with reception on 2nd floor. Hotel was quite good, room was comfortable, pillows a bit soft, bed was comfortable. Room was a good size & had some reasonable storage space. Like MOST of the staff. Many seemed stressed out or mad. GREAT breakfast. No trash cans to throw away trash--except the room. ALWAYS need strong lights. Great shower. Noisy fans. Will be back!

A last minute find, really happy witht the hotel. The large room overlooked a busy road (and a park) but the windows did their job well and I couldn't hear any traffic. There was a desk and a small table with an armchair. Good aircon and shower. Comfortable bed. The breakfast was plentiful and excellent in a room with plenty of daylight overlooking a small garden, you could also sit outside (also smoking area). There's a tube station 5mns away and the hotel is about 45 mns from the airport.

Fine for the Area, but Could Be Better

The overall experience was average. The breakfast was very good, which I appreciated. However, I had booked a double bed but was given a single instead. Also, the room was not cleaned after my first day. I don’t mind that, but at least I could have been asked. While these details were disappointing, the stay was acceptable. If you must be in this area, the hotel is fine, but if not, I would suggest looking at other options.

I arrived for check in about 8pm. The staff were very friendly. There is a small but perfectly functional bar. I was very impressed with the array of art work on display around the hotel. The room had everything I expected for a room of this class. It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the big selling point for me. I’ve had far worse breakfasts in far more expensive hotels! All the bases covered. Cereals, hot option (really good scrambled eggs!), pastries & cookies, cold meats, cheeses, fruit. I went to Berlin for an event at the Huxley’s Neue Welt. The hotel is opposite the venue, and very easy to access on the U-Bahn. I intend to return to Berlin and will certainly look to stay at the same hotel.
