There was no one at the reception desk (once I found it) when I got there, but showed up very quickly. Spoke a little English and was polite but not overly friendly. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around but the would guess not the greatest area. Comfortable beds and relatively clean.

The staff were extremely kind, and honestly, they are the only reason I can give this hotel any stars. Unfortunately, the window in my room opened toward a shopping arcade that was very noisy, and there was no real fresh air — only smoke and the smell of cigarettes. I couldn’t keep the window closed because the room felt suffocating, but opening it wasn’t an option either. I even experienced shortness of breath inside the room and preferred to stay outside the hotel during the day just to get some fresh air.

A decent hotel

Our recent stay at the hotel was okay. Despite booking through Hotels.com, we were allowed a late check-in. I don't know if this is on Hotels.com or misinformation from the hotel to Hotels.com, but it did say check-in to 20:00 when in fact it ended at 18:00. The comfort of the room was below average. The beds weren't super comfortable, primarily because they had no mattress pad/topper. The cleaning standards were fine. The room and bathroom were reasonably clean, and we didn't notice much. Only that the interior felt outdated, and somewhat worn out. The service provided by the staff was great. We didn't interact much with the staff, as we had no real concerns, nor did we stay much at the hotel. The hotel's location was reasonably situated for our purpose of visiting Tropical Island. However, it was quite far from Berlin's city center; something that anyone who wants to visit Berlin and its main attractions should keep in mind. But other than being far from the city center, you had most things you'd need within a few minutes, as the hotel is situated in a small square with several options for shopping. Also, the hotel is situated inside a small shopping mall, with a kino (I think), a few restaurants, and a few bars. The situation with the bars might be a deal-breaker for some, as the sound from the bars could easily be heard from the rooms if the windows were open, which was almost a must considering the rooms got quite hot during the night, and no AC was available.

The pictures are not of the rooms or the hotel. Reception is a desk wedged in the hallway between rooms with no signage. Door locks dont work and the room was not cleaned or made up prior to arrival, had to ask for sheets and pillows. Would not recomend. Definitely look at the google reviews not the expedia ones.

Good for price, better for weekdays

We stayed 3 nights. The first 2 night were great. The hotel is good for the price. Very close to the train station and restaurants. However, our room was above a club and our last night was a Saturday which caused us to stay up till 4 due to the noise. Overall I would say it’s a great place to stay on weekdays.

Be wary of bed bugs! I read reviews about bed bugs so the first thing I did upon entering the room was lift the mattress only to find live bed bugs - yikes. This hotel carpets are spoiled and stained with many smells. It’s located on top of a strip club. The hotel reeks of smoke, weed and alcohol. I tried bringing the bed bug issue with the hotel manager but all he seemed to offer was a “larger room”. Like no, if this room has bed bugs, I’m sure they all do. The size of the room doesn’t matter.

Good for families

Hotel in the middle of a shopping mall in 2 floor of the building. Supermarket cross the street. U bahn 2 blocks, about 30 minutes from Berlin down town. Parking cost 6 euro day, same building. Need to improve TV, only german channels

Very tired. Not properly clean. Could only use the lift down and reception is on first floor. Reception kept closing and was only advertised as open for short hours to start with. Were unable to book me a taxi in the morning. Worst hotel I've stayed at in years.

Zweckmässig zum Übernachten

Von aussen sieht das Hotel ganz OK aus. Jedoch muss man etwas suchen um den Eingang zu finden. Auch ist der Fahrstuhl aussen noch falsch angeschrieben (1. Stock, obwohl die Reception neu im 2. Stock liegt, dass war dann im Fahrstuhl ersichtlich). Die Reception wirkt improvisiert und der Flur hätte dringend eine Komplettsanierung notwendig. Zimmer sind OK, jedoch wäre ein Fernseher heutzutage standard - dieser fehlte leider. Die Zimmer sind auf den Innenhof gerichtet, in welchem bis früh Morgens dauernd Betrieb herrscht. Täglicher Zimmerservice? Gibt es hier wohl nicht.

Es ist halt vom Preis her günstig. Das ist das einzig positive, das ich sagen kann. Die Lage ist für meine Zwecke auch gut. Ansonsten sind die Zimmer nicht besonders sauber & die Möbel kaputt. Ich hatte mit einem Abstand von ca. 4 Wochen zwei mal das gleich Zimmer & der Stuhl, den ich beim ersten Besuch reparieren musste, war immer noch kaputt in diesem Zimmer. Das Personal bemüht sich, ist aber auch nicht immer anzutreffen. Wenn es sich umgehen lässt, würde ich nicht noch mal hier übernachten.

Lage im Haus mit Bar unter dem Hotel und Disco im Haus. Ich habe mit Ohropax die Bässe gehört und bin nach 1/2 h wieder aufgestanden und 0:30 Uhr abgefahren. Die Buchung für Schlaf vor der 3,5h Heimfahrt machte also keinen Sinn.

Das Hotel liegt dörflich anmutend. Ansonsten ist das Ganze schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Bei mir funktionierte weder der Fernseher noch die Duschhalterung oder der Seifenspender war leer. In den Mülleimer fehlte die Mülltüte. Außerdem war der Lärm von dem Innenliegenden Kletterpark (Auch bei geschlossenem Fenster) oder der Bar bis spät in die Nacht oder auch wieder am frühen Morgen zu hören.

Für den Preis nehme ich gern in Kauf, dass das Badezimmer etwas outdated ist. Die Fugen könnten zum Beispiel einen neuen Anstrich gebrauchen, der Heizkörper hat kleine Rostflecken und turned optisch erst mal ab. Aber hey, dafür ist alles megasauber!

Das Personal am Telefon war völlig unkompetent und unhöflich, da die Anreise nach 18 Uhr stattfand und die Rezeption anscheinend nicht mehr besetzt ist, obwohl in Expedia steht, dass die Rezeption bis um 20 Uhr besetzt ist. Ich musste 2x anrufen und dem Personal erneut sagen wann ich genau anreise, obwohl sie ein Safecode besitzen. Das Hotel ist mitten in der Innenstadt und schlecht ausgeschildert. Das Parkhaus war sehr schlecht ausgeschildert für jemand fremdes, da dort nur Hotel steht aber nicht genau der Name vom Hotel. Im Foyer bzw. Auf dem Flur saßen 4 polnisch sprachige Männer die Barfuß saßen und Bier getrunken haben. Sie waren bis um 1 Uhr Nachts sehr laut und total unangenehm für eine Frau. Das Zimmer war ok. Es gab leider nur zwei große Handtücher viel zu wenig für zwei Frauen die lange Haare haben. Das Zimmer war sauber, jedoch war der Toilettendeckel gelb verfärbt. Das Hotel ist eher höchstens für eine Nacht und nicht mehr!
