Great location and beautiful design, but a disappointing experience. First night, the room lights wouldn’t turn off. Reception took a few rings to answer. The staff member finally answered and dismissively told me to “read the room card,” implying the problem was my fault. I had figured out the lighting system—it was not a user error. Because of the unhelpful response, I went downstairs to speak in person. The staff member was casually chatting with a coworker; I had her come upstairs; she couldn’t turn off the lights either, but told me the hotel was fully booked and that I’d have to sleep with the lights on. Her tone was apathetic and condescending, and I left the interaction feeling dismissed and frustrated. The 1st room I was relocated to the next day had a broken shampoo dispenser and was very hot (they have no a/c) and extremely small. I refused it and my only other option was a dble twin bed joined together. The room had working lights but was missing basic toiletries. Booking and I both contacted the manager and got no response. Although other staff were more professional, the overall experience reflects poor management

I was staying here with my significant other for vacation. We stayed 7 nights while doing day trips around Norway. This was an excellent room, with some minor issues. On the good side: Very clean. Spectacular breakfast buffet. Friendly and responsive staff. For the negatives: The main issue was that it was an extraordinarily small room. We've stayed in small rooms before (e.g. in NYC), but this takes the cake. If our suitcases were any larger (we travel with just barely too big to be checkable sized rollerboards) we would not have been able to have walkable pathways. (There's no dresser or drawers to use, so you really are stuck organizing things in your suitcases.) We had narrow paths around the bed and to the bathroom, and that was it. There were some stubbed toes. Second - a more minor issue: we ran out of liquid soap in the shower at one point. When the room was serviced, it was not refilled, so we requested it in the evening, and the night staff simply filled the bottle with water. The next day when we found this, we complained to the manager on duty who immediately fixed the problem, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Beyond these two negatives, the place was excellent! All-in-all, if the rooms were a bit bigger, I would definitely be back.

Phenomenal hotel with beautiful, elegant rooms and lovely, helpful staff. We had to skip sitting down for breakfast to catch a train to the fjords but the staff let us go in early and box up whatever we wanted to go! I would give it 6 stars if I could!

Great location. Nice property and staff. Breakfast quality was just ok. Lots of choices but quality very average. Junior suite was ok, but ‘balcony’ was over trash dumpsters, air conditioning could not be set nearly low enough. Zero closet or dresser storage.

A fantastic location in the heart of Bergen. The beds were comfortable and our room overlooked a courtyard that was so quiet. The staff was wonderful. The highlight was the extensive breakfast buffet. Fresh baked bread, cheese selection, frittata, vegetables, meats, yoghurt with every possible topping and finally an abundance of pastries. Of course juices and coffee. I could only manage to eat a portion of the extensive offerings.

The hotel is ‘cool’ BUT the clear glass doors on the toilet area is a bit much. Total lack of privacy. The hosts at the reception area provided different information to different guests. When we checked in the host did not tell us at all about the fact that the two restaurants that were adjacent to the hotel both would give us a 25% discount if we ate there- I only learned that because today I was sitting and waiting to leave the hotel when I heard another host tell a couple about that. Perhaps ALL staff members need same training or a checklist to make sure each guest has the same information. The hotel breakfast was just ok. Very little variation from day to day.

Lovely standard room 508 for our 1 night stay. Staff were friendly and accommodating to our needs. Breakfast was included which we appreciated since we had a very early checkout. We also received a 25% discount if dining at KOD steakhouse. I would recommend staying at Hotel Oleana.

Pros: Terrific breakfast buffet Excellent service Great location Cons: Bad bathrooms: NO DOOR, little counter space, no free amenities. Having no door is not just a privacy issue (if the room door is open you can see straight into the shower which has a clear glass shower door), it is also a noise issue and a steam issue.

We ask for a junior suite with balcony. Too expensive for wat we received. It is a misleading adertising The room is small, the closet or wadrobe is just for 3 o4 clothes, so 2 luggage opened are complicated to handle. Of course it had a balcony, however the iew is to a garage of another building with garbage cubes.
