Charming & Quaint I really was not sure about this untraditional choice for our three days in Bergen, Norway... This is a French Restaurant Hotel which is sprawling between several connected buildings. The colorful decor vibtrates and the check-in front desk has a very helpful multilingual staff. In our room, there was French music playing, but no television. The daily breakfast was delightfully delicious... and there is even a 24 hour cappuccino/espresso/hot-chocolate machine that hit the spot, several times a day. This stay was an unconventional hotel choice, but a memoral decision that we hope to make again. Wonderful

Wow, what a place. We had seen the photos online, but staying at the Charmante was a real experience and pleasure. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a welcome drink in their bar area at check-in and the details throughout the hotel and room were so well considered and with such a sense of fun. Thank you so much to the whole team for providing a truly memorable experience for our stay in Bergen. P.S. As others have said, the ‘amazing breakfast’ really is!

This hotel looked a bit funky to me in the photos but my wife insisted we try it (so we did). I am so glad I listened to her. This hotel is unique, charming and fun. It felt like going back to the Belle Epoque with its lavish and fine decor/details. It was fun just hanging out in and exploring the hotel- don’t miss the atmospheric “secret” speakeasy upstairs! We had a very fine dinner in their main restaurant and included breakfasts were also excellent. The staff were extremely professional and accommodating. The hotel is perfectly situated in central Bergen within walking distance of everything. Highly recommend!

Very pretty chic hotel in great location. Breakfast was good too. Very clean. Few things could be improved at this price point (450$++ usd) that were disappointing - no floor towel/mat in bathroom with slippery slick marble tiles, no free bottle of water, no robes or slippers or any extra towels (not that you NEED those, but comparing to other hotels in this price range). No one to help with your bags. VERY NOISY at night until 3 am as all rooms are right above bars. And big red flag for older people - your taxi cannot drive up to this hotel - you must walk your bags at least 1 block.

I can't say enough great things about the Charmante Hotel! We stayed there for our honeymoon and everything was just perfect. The staff is kind and welcoming, and went above and beyond our expectations to accommodate my wife's allergies, even making a special cappuccino with oat milk as the lounge coffee maker did not have that option. The rooms were gorgeous and comfortable, with a great music playlist to set the mood! We will absolutely stay here again the next time we are in Bergen!

Comfortable room and really lovely service. Best meal in ages at Bistro Cherie. The decor is fabulous! Noisy street with popular bar right across street so-noise sensitive people should ask for a room off the street.

If you are tired of millennial gray with white subway tile bathrooms, this place is for you! Great hotel for a couple with a mix of French charm and a large dose of sultry touches. Think Moulin Rouge without Satine. The breakfast was delicious, the beds comfortable, the bar upstairs had a great ambiance and the staff helpful. We had a « grande chambre » which had a minibar, a sitting area, a large bed set up in the typical Norwegian way, and a large bathroom with shower (and a mirrored ceiling - yes, you can picture it). The hotel is situated in the middle of a busy pedestrian street, steps from the Bryggen area and a the downtown shopping. It was also a quick walk up the path of the funicular. We would recommend for any romantic getaway!

An absolute gem of a boutique hotel that seems to have thought of every single detail in room appointment and design, fantastic employees, and delicious food and cocktail menus. Highly recommended and encourage everyone to stay here.

The Charment delivers its name, with a traditional French design throughout the hotel. But as a newer hotel, its climate & light control system is state of the art. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and room was very comfortable. Included breakfast is served from a menu, and the food was good. Location is perfect, just :10 from train station and shopping, with several restaurants & stores on the same street, so we could walk everywhere.
