"Awesome hotel nice stuff drinks was great but food was ok"

"The property itself was beautiful but unfortunately at this time of year (early May) there was a lot of sargassum so we did not enjoy the resort's beach. The pool was a nice sub. The food at the local restaurants in San Pedro were better than the resort's restaurant but it was convienent and decent. Important to note that at the resort bar and restaurant they do not sell any hard liquor, only beer and wine. In comparison to another 4 star Belizian resort we had just stayed at, we did feel it was not as luxurious but overall clean, beautiful views, and fun diving experiences available. "

"The hotel was just alright, the other Sun Breeze hotel just south on the beach looked a lot better and had a really good restaurant. We purchased the ocean front suite but got a room with a bunch of palm trees and a view of the neighboring hotel’s room, so I recommended just booking the standard room instead if you really want to stay here. We reached out to the hotel to see if we can transfer to the standard sun breeze hotel and never heard anything. Felt like as soon as we signed for the room they didn’t care about us as much. There was so a ton of construction going on and our hallway smelled like paint, I’m not sure what was going on but we didn’t spend too much time at the hotel because of this. "

"Basically, everything works at the Mayan. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean with well equipped kitchens, and while it’s not in the least bit luxurious, it’s very nice. Reaching for just a couple of small complaints, there’s a bad odor on the lane outside the only entry/exit, and you have to knock on the window at the entrance if you want the water turned on so that you can rinse the sand from your feet. But, hey, it’s San Pedro! You could pay a lot more and still not beat the convenience, comfort and friendly character of the Mayan Princess."

"Resort is exactly as pictured. Rooms were clean and smelled clean, great view of the ocean/beach, good water pressure and hot water for the shower, and all the amenities were clean and working. The ladies at the front desk were extremely friendly and very helpful. Property is easy to find and right next to the water taxi. The beach front location was perfect so it was close to everything, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, etc. I didn’t eat at the on site restaurant or order from the bar so I can’t say anything about the food, but I did get the complementary drink upon arrival and it was great. There is construction going on next to the property but I didn’t hear any noise from it."
