"Firstly, the staff there was fantastic. We had had a problem with our rental car in Evora and ended up carless in Moura, but had reserved a night kayaking outing the evening of the day we got there. We told the staff at the hotel and they volunteered to arrange a taxi for us. Then we had said something about having to leave on the early bus the next day and they shifted the breakfast a half an hour earlier so that we could eat before we left. The staff was friendly, considerate and went out of their way to be helpful.
The hotel itself was very clean, the AC worked great (important when its 43C outside), our room was very quiet and the beds comfortable. I'll go back there again if I get back to Moura, which I probably will with the nearby lake, stargazing and good food. A big thank you to the staff there!"
"Heaven on earth. Absolutely unique and amazing stay. From the welcome sightings of the stork nests to the view of beautiful horses calmly standing by the lake I fell in love with the environment. Our check in was fun and very enjoyable. Perhaps the welcome wine glass made the experience that more enjoyable. Great friendly staff that gave a great overview of what the Herdade had to offer. Regret only spending one night but we can’t wait to go back and take full advantage of all that we missed this time. We stayed in the “Casa de preda” and had our own private little pool and unobstructed view of the wineries and landscape. The little details of the embroidered linens with the Herdade logo and all the food and drinks that welcomed us in our beautiful contemporary house was superb. The amenities were top notch and all the Baobab candles made the place smell so good. The music playing in the background when we arrived to the room so cool. So all senses were taken care of and an instant calm and relaxation ensued.
The restaurant was awesome as well. The food and wine were outstanding. The “egg rice pudding” was the most beautiful and delicious dessert I have ever had. Love the family story and I got the coffee table book of “Malhadinha , The heart of Alentejo” on display in my living room in California to reminisce of such wonderful and magical place. Having been born in Alentejo , this Herdade encompasses the spirit and essence of this cultural rich area in Portugal."

10/10 Excellent
"My stay here was the perfect finale to wind down from an extensive road trip of Lisbon, Nazare, Aveiro and Porto. The grounds, lobby and room exceeded my expectations. Staff was friendly and welcoming. My room, all on 1st floor, was sparkling clean with a view of olive trees. Mini fridge partially stocked with plenty of extra room. Air conditioned as well. Nespresso coffee maker available by request. On site restaurant and bar well appointed with excellent cuisine. I enjoyed a massage at the on property spa. Play area for kid's including kids swimming pool. Indoor and outdoor pool for adults. Stable of horses available to ride. Free winery tour with tastings was my favorite. Of course i purchased a case of their wine. Walking trails also. Set amongst green rolling hills. Come and enjoy."
"Fabulous location, set in vineyards and olive groves. Ended up in one of the suites overlooking the pool, which was wonderful. Restaurant menu was varied and the food was good. Great staff, who also arranged a visit to the Santa Vitoria wine cellars for us."
