Beautiful trees nearby. Receptionist was pretty disinterested, not particularly friendly or helpful, she just wanted to go home for the night. Otherwise all pretty good. Comfy, clean room. One of the bathroom ceiling lights was broken & you could see into the ceiling cavity. And my room window wouldn’t open. Pool was a little disused but clean enough to swim in (which I did) with lovely outlook. I would stay here again.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. All reviews are looked into to ensure we can rectify any issues that may have come to light during any stay. We have gone back through our housekeeping notes and checked out the dates and notes supplied by the housekeeper. Unfortunately you did not have your do not service note out and even though housekeeping knocked they heard no response so they entered to service your room. If you would have put your do not service sign out it would have avoided the staff coming in to do their job. We apologise for any inconvenience.

The property is a reasonably priced placed to stay - between chefs at the time I went so the restaurant was closed. The pool needs to be cleaned. Leaves etc blow into the pool but there were cobwebs on the spa bit of it. Rooms are small but wifi was good. A reasonably priced place to stay for a night or two.

Didn't use most facilities, as we were there for a limited time, just for a sleep. Reception was ok, but not overly welcoming. Would stay again, as it is very convenient, and a nice place.

Pool was great, but the room was very small, no bed side tables or power point on 1 side for charging phone, bathroom was good, tv only had chanel 7 and abc, but was a great spot.

Grand Oaks was a nice place, only saw reception staff once on Saturday lunchtime, disappointed the bar/restaurant was not open over the long weekend. Very quiet and peaceful.

Peaceful setting
We originally booked a double room which was too small, so paid for an upgrade to the Deluxe King Suite. This room, with spa bath, was amazing.

I never got to experience this accommodation. I had a family emergency five days before and although I left messages to try and change my date they never responded. I ultimately contacted Last Minute and they got an answer from them, which was no. Worst accommodation for communication and no consideration for emergencies that occur in client’s lives.

This is unfortunate. We never received any query from you regarding this booking until you contacted us last minute with a request to cancel for free. We are not able to rebook rooms last minute which are in a non-refundable phase which is why we have this policy. You should always consider travel insurance for unforeseen circumstances that may come up in your life.

beautiful grounds.but worst bed ever, three nights of broken sleep hell . Room was clean but water pressure in shower terrible. definitely not resort material more a retreat.

We did not have any leaks in the property fortunately, you had a noise of rain on the roof which we were not able to control. Sorry it was beyond our control.

Receptionist was not overly engaging or provided too much information on the resort activities, facilities etc! While the room was very comfortable, the shower water was either boiling hot or freezing cold. The toilet cistern buttons were broken, although they did work after pushing on the correct spot.

Thank you for your review however we find it a little confusing that the receptionist was both not engaging but also provided too much info. We are not entirely sure how to rectify this however will get maintenance to check the hot water and toilet cistern. We are pleased you enjoyed all other aspects of your stay at The Grand Oaks

And I did read a review, and it sent the walls with paper seen that you could hear what was going on in the next room, due to the connecting door in between, I thought that it may be a reaction from a rival company, but no, even just the TV on load is heard. The room I stayed in a double bed which I knew and going into the reservation, but the room around the double bed was very very small. I am 6 foot two and way over 100 KG and found it very difficult to move. The resort is old and just looks cold. The staff tried to push dinner and breakfast on us telling us that in town it may be very busy so it would be better to book at the resort which we found not to be correct. Parking was 100 m away from the door, and for someone with bad knees made it difficult to walk suitcases etc that far. I did use points to cheap and the price but next time I will definitely stay somewhere cheaper, even if I can’t use points. I did have one breakfast at the resort and I coffee was cold and had to wait an hour for food, which was time we didn’t really have, and I thought eating at the resort would make time effectiveness more beneficial for me.

We are sorry if you felt this was pushed on you. We also offer different room styles for all different guest needs. We can offer king and deluxe king rooms. The price of 138.60 for a 1 night stay on a Saturday night in one of our double rooms one of the most affordable options in town for a room with a private bathroom.

Well positioned.
This hotel was clean and comfortable, well positioned from central Beechworth. Beautiful surroundings and very quiet. My evening meal at the resident restaurant was beautiful.The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location & surrounds. Friendly staff. Hallways require maintenance ( walls, carpet. AC in Room 1 may need attention, had it set to 23 degrees for several hours but room still cool, so either needs filter clean, out of gas or very poor insulation in ceiling. Otherwise all good.
