Only there on stopover, for a couple of days waiting to leave for airport. Great service to the airport and they have late checkouts for later flights. The staff at the Malai Restaurant are very friendly and they recognize us as returning customers. We have stayed there quite a few times. The front desk never seems to recognize us as returning customers but very friendly and efficient.

Have been coming to Malaysia for years now and I find it suits my needs very well. The locality is fairly quiet compared with much of Bangkok, there is a 7/11 across the road and the metro is in walking distance. My room was spacious and comfortable, the staff are polite and friendly and the restaurant is reasonable with good prices (especially the beer). They could benefit from room safes instead of a strange reception controlled system.

I was very pleased with my stay. The hotel is clean and comfortable within walking distance of the metro at Lumpini Park. The restaurant offers a very wide choice of Thai food and gives a discount to guests.

Very friendly and efficient check in. My room was cleaned spotlessly every day. Everything was excellent and the wifi in my room very fast. The location of the hotel was perfect as well with short walks to restaurants, bars , the mrt and the hughe new shopping mall One Bangkok

The staff was excellent! I unfortunately got a room that hasnt been updated in quite some time, it was rather drab and a little dirty in some areas. Most nights its smelled heavily of cigarettes. Iwould stay there again if i was guarenteed one of the renovated rooms though.

Overall very good, modest little hotel. The pool washroom however was not well kept, missing soap and toilet paper, and due to the location of the pool in between tall buildings, it didn’t receive much sunshine. Also the pool lounger beds were quite dirty. Aside from this, we really enjoyed our stay. I appreciated the hotels humble little features and gestures to help maintain environmental sustainability, such as the kind signs about water usage and bed linen etc. I wouldn’t recommend for people hoping to spend a lot of time lounging in the sunshine but in general for a relaxing holiday right in a convenient, well-connected location, it’s perfect.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 25 years. It always delivers. Yes the environment is dated, but meticulously clean. Rooms are large and comfortable. Food in the Mali restaurant always good. Staff helpful and polite. Located near Lumpini MRT, so access to SIlom area 10 minutes away. A number of other dinning options a stone throw away. I have never been disapointed and think it is good value for money. Will always be my first choice when in Bangok. Remember it not the Hilton and you will not be disappointed

Old, but authentic, cheap and functional

The hotel is located in the centre of the diplomatic district, south of Sathorn. If you are a little "local' the area is amazing, but if you are used to living with BTS, busses, MRT etc just outside the hotel, this will feel like out of the way, with several hundred metres to such options. The hotel is old, from the vietnam war era, it seems. Very authentic, but also a lot of things that are still from that time in the 50s and 60s, which can seem dated or insufficient today. We order3d the premium in the hopes this would be the best the hotel had to offer, and while pretty, and spacious, the bed was noisy, and the bathroom was not meant for people my size, so we had to change hotels. The hotel did offer to exchange rooms, but we preferred a new hotel. The pool is good though, palm trees around, decent bar, and a noodle place integrated in the hotel too. With a little upgrade to the rooms, this could easily become an amazing stay, especially given the ultra low price for this area.

I have known about the Malaysia hotel for many years. It has had a checkered - interesting - career. I was thus quite surprised at how nice it turned out to be. It was very comfortable and clean. While a bit old, everything worked perfectly. The ladies cleaning the room were fast and reliable. The Malia dining room served great breakfasts and lovely Thai food. The hotel was in an interesting neighborhood with a truly excellent Vietnamese restaurant within a 5 minute walk around the corner. Overall i would say the hotel was great value for money.

Stayed in the huge “Home” room. Only $59 in peak season. Had its own big balcony overlooking the pool, separate entrance, etc. LOCATION was perfect! Ten minute walk to Lumpini park. Seven minutes to the subway station. SERVICE was awesome. All the staff were super accommodating. Pool was lovely, cool and clean on hot days.
