「This is a fantastic place to stay prior to an early morning channel crossing. The hotel really is lovely, as are the reception staff. The rooms are clean, modern and very comfortable, and the hotel parking at the rear is very convenient. We chose not to eat/drink at the hotel and instead walked into the town. It's a fair walk to the centre, but it's worth it as there are plenty of lively bars and large selection of restaurants. We had a great final night before coming home to the UK.」

「Chateau Tilques is located a few miles north of Saint-Omer in a small village. The Hotel comprises a Chateau style hotel and grounds, with an external annex of rooms of some size. I stayed in the annex which was comfortable and well decorated. Some minor issues were irritating. The key-light master switch by the door was hard to locate and too complex to insert the key card to turn on the electricity in the room. Trying to do a fiddly task in the dark is irritating. There was no proper light...

「The room was so, so dirty. Hair in the shower and all over the bathroom, and black mold on the ceilings and walls in the shower. The shower temp went from freezing to scalding with little in between. Only a combination body wash/shampoo in the shower. The heater in the bathroom looked like it was going to burst into flames when we accidentally turned it on, it was so sketchy. Dirty marks all over the walls. So. Dirty. Door frames and other parts of the room were also broken or poorly repaired....
