The front desk staff we talked to knew very little English and when spoken to in Chinese, were not very helpful and generally confused when we asked for restaurant recommendations. Now, we understand that few Westerners probably stay at this hotel.」

「17yuan trip from the train station, close to universities and right beside a brand new mall with three floors of restaurants and some fun little shops. Far from old Zhengzhou so a 30 minute taxi ride costing about 45 yuan. Staff did not speak any English so there was some confusion even using Google translate but the room was clean and the beds were nice and soft so we were satisfied. 」

「Luxurious. I stayed in 3 IHG hotels on this trip and all were well managed and operated. This is a 5-star for sure, BUT it is located in a developing area. The hotel is isolated with lovely gardens, but no nearby businesses, even though stores and locations have yet to be filled. You can only access the hotel and its facilities. Breakfast buffet has many choices, but how much can one eat at a sitting. Other meals are available at regimented times at their Cafe and restaurant. The restaurant is...
