"This was a beautiful property. We stayed in the Jaguarundi room and had a lovely view of the whale tale from our room’s balcony. It was a very nice size with a separate bedroom (but note there is not a door to close it off) and a separate sitting area and an additional area next to the sitting area with an additional queen bed. It’s so lush all around the property and we saw so many beautiful birds and some spider monkeys from our room. The bathroom was absolutely beautiful with a stone shower and counter. The staff were lovely and so helpful. There are hiking trails on the property which was really cool to have access to. Be aware there is no AC but there are ceiling fans and stand fans. We were here in September and found it doable but at times it can feel a bit warm. We would happily stay here again."

"The Hotel Ballena Ray is a gem. While the overall vibe is laid back, the rooms are perfect for a long stay with kitchenette and other basic amenities. The breakfast is especially wonderful as is the staff. And the pool, though small, is wonderful and has a bar open in the late afternoon and evening. You can swim until 9PM, which is a nice bonus after a long day exploring the surrounding areas of Uvita, Ballena Marine National Park (5 minute walk from the property) and the surrounding areas. Highly recommended."
