Enjoy a drink from the bar and relax in the majestic setting of this historic theater as you listen to the orchestra.

Within the modern and impressive Woodruff Arts Center is the Atlanta Symphony Hall, an elegant auditorium with elaborate balconies and a graceful stage. It is the home arena of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, which has been playing since 1945. When planning a visit to Atlanta Symphony Hall, choose from an eclectic schedule of performances, from classical symphonies to music from iconic movies.

Sit back and enjoy the fine acoustics in the auditorium, which seats 1,762 spectators. Most seats are in the orchestra section, with the lower balcony and upper balcony completing the layout.

Listen to the sweet melodies of great international composers such as the French Claude Debussy and Russian Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. During the intermission, the hall’s bar serves a variety of drinks and snacks.

Attend a performance by the Atlanta Youth Orchestra, for which ticket prices are a little lower. The senior orchestra has performed here since 1968 and continues to do so from September through June.

Films, lectures and all types of concerts are held in this iconic institution. After a performance enjoy a meal at one of the upscale restaurants on the street just outside the theater.

To book tickets, call the concert hotline or arrive at the Symphony Hall Box Office, which is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon to late afternoon. You can also get seats online. Note that wireless audio aids are available in the hall for patrons with hearing impairments.

The Atlanta Symphony Hall is on the eastern side of the Arts Center Transit Station, in the northern part of Midtown Atlanta. From the downtown district, travel by bus north for less than 20 minutes to arrive here. If driving, it may be better to pay to reserve a parking space in advance.

While you’re in the Midtown area, consider visiting surrounding sights such as the High Museum of Art, the Center for Puppetry Arts and Bodies the Exhibition.
