"The two days/nights that we spent at La Terrazza were the cherry on top of our week in Italy. We visited Assisi in June, expecting hot weather, and we chose this hotel in part because of the pool, and also because it was near but not inside historic Assisi and because of the included on-sight parking. What we loved most was the obvious care and craftsmanship given to the property. The landscaping was lovely, and in June, the plantings were in bloom with colorful flowers, and the pool and patio and lawn all fit together well and made for a relaxing, aesthetically pleasing outdoor space. The buildings (the main structure and the "annex" of rooms outside) were also thoughtfully built and beautiful --the choice of stone, the carpentry. We were in a "superior" room, which was small but not cramped and had a very comfortable king-size mattress with new, clean, white linens, tasteful decor, a balcony with a view, and all of the other niceties you might expect --clean, nicely tiled bathroom, mini-fridge, etc. The other highlight was the friendly, helpful staff at the front desk, in the bar, in the dining room (in particular, the owner, who is was hands on everywhere). We felt welcomed and comfortable. The breakfast was a three-table buffet with a range of options ("continental breakfast"). We also had dinner one night -- we chose two pasta dishes, which were delicious, and we saw others eating salads, "secondi," and desserts which also looked like high-quality, well prepared dishes."

"I loved staying here! It's right next to the main plaza area and a short (downhill) walk to St. Chiara, St. Francis, Chiese Nuova, and St. Maria (where St. Carlo is on display). St. Chiara has 7:15 am daily mass which was great to attend before breakfast. The breakfast was great (coffee, fresh fruits, meats, jelly, bread, freshly made eggs, etc). The room itself was very quiet, even though we were close to the busy plaza. There was an orchestra concert one night in the plaza, but you couldn't hear it inside the room. AC works great, tall ceilings, a mini fridge, and the room is large. Bed is very comfortable and there is even a small loveseat to lounge on. The bathroom looks new and has a large (for Europe) shower with a rainfall shower head and a seperate spray handle. There is also plenty of storage space in the bathroom and a large closet in the bedroom (with a safe) to store clothing in. There is no elevator but they carry your bags up and down the stairs for you, which was really nice. The hotel itself is very secure, and you would feel safe if you are a female solo traveler. The front entrance has a wooden exterior door as well as an inner sliding glass door, both of which require a key card to enter. Our favorite restaurants Mangiar e Vino by The Lanterne in between the plazza and St. Chiara. There is also a minimart on the way from the plaza to St. Rufino which stocks water and snacks. The hosts were really nice we'd stay again , and I highly recommend the hotel."
