"Great location if you are looking for an affordable and practical alternative to staying in central San Sebastián. Pensión Beizama is in a quiet area of Astigarraga, with a bus stop about a 3-min walk away. Buses run regularly into Donostia/San Sebastián, passing the main bus station and continuing into the city centre, with a stop by Hotel María Cristina. I travelled alone and felt very safe in the area. The pension is above a small local bar/restaurant, which was very convenient for a quick breakfast and served good tortillas. They also serve meals, although I didn't try them. Within about a 5-min walk there are other local restaurants and places for pintxos, as well as small market and a bakery. I actually enjoyed being in a more residential area and seeing a bit of local life rather than staying right in the tourist centre. My room was clean with a small balcony. It was compact but perfectly functional. The bathroom was also small, but the shower area itself was spacious. This is a very simple, no-frills accommodation, and the price reflects that. There are three flights of stairs and no lift, and there is no AC. This wasn't a problem at all during my stay in the second half of September, when the temperature was very comfortable. Check-in and check-out were both quick and straightforward. Juan is really friendly. Overall, a simple, clean and good-value place to stay, with very convenient public transport."

"I’m traveling in the north of Spain and spent two nights in San Sebastian, one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever seen. The pictures you see do not do it justice. You have to come to appreciate it.. this hotel I picked out of the blue on Expedia and I got very lucky.. close to the Auto bus station in a 10 minute taxi ride to the old town.. Aitor was the first person that met me and he went out of his way to help me with questions about the city.. the entire staff was very friendly and pleasant.:Aitana , Estella,Xabi and Amais… great location to see this beautiful city and a lovely hotel, Their buffet breakfast was excellent!!!"

"Whilst the staff at check were friendly and accommodating the signage for the apartments in inadequate . Note for information you check in at the Aria hotel next door. Parking is available on the street, however this can be full if you arrive during office hours. Although outside of the city centre access via the #28 bus is excellent and cheap (€1.95) The room was clean and a good shower however smaller than anticipated Fridge,stove top are available if needed and a laundry room downstairs is available We appreciated the hotel offering use of their bike garage Overall a good stay but just overpriced"

"Good size, well equipped clean rooms in a fairly unremarkable building. Being over 60 we struggled a bit with the online registration process but got there in the end. If you are looking for a budget option close to San Sebastián I would highly recommend this. Great coffee shop just across the road and up the hill as well."
