We had a great two night stay here. Staff are so helpful and the location is really central for shopping and the nicer areas of Amsterdam - Jordaan etc. I would stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Max Brown Hotel. The location was fantastic and made it easy to explore Amsterdam, and the charming canal setting gave us a true Amsterdam experience. The hotel is cute, comfortable, and full of character, and the staff were very nice, welcoming, and helpful. The stairs are typical of Amsterdam’s older, historic buildings, so they can be challenging if you have mobility issues or large luggage. That’s really the only thing to be aware of. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend the Max Brown for its great location, charming atmosphere, and friendly staff.

Great staff and very helpful. Be aware this hotel has no elevator, the steps are very narrow and steep. If not in best health or fitness level, request room on lowest floor. We changed our room from 3rd to 1st. We only had carry on luggage and hard to carry upstairs. Breakfast is truly continental small selection but good.

This hotel was in a good location on a canal. A staff member gave us good recommendations on restaurants and they were friendly. Most of the people staying at the hotel were in their 20's, so it was affordable for younger folks. The room was dark and dusty. If you want sleep, this is not the place for you. The walls are thin and we heard people clomping up and down the steps all night. Frequently, there was a gaggle of smokers at the front door smoking.

LOVEEED this hotel- location was fantastic, the boutique charm, overall decor and staff was great. I had a medium sized room that was the perfect size for me. They had bikes you can rent, was walking distance to the train station, was super close to a lot of amazing shops, bakeries, and restaurants. Could not rave about this place. Would absolutely go back and stay again

Very cute, great vibe! Very friendly and helpful front desk staff(front desk is the bar!) Our only complaint was the paper thin walls. We could hear the people next to us talking as if they were almost in our room! Bathroom and bedroom were cozy (tiny) but we loved it!

This is a fabulous property. It’s a hotel made from old Amsterdam houses. It has quite a bit of character and charm. There’s no elevator though so you will be walking up some rather steep flights of stairs.
