"There is work being done so there is scaffolding & the car park is not in use. There is parking nearby. Reception clean & bright with helpful friendly staff. Room is well appointed, bed comfortable but could be bigger. Breakfast buffet was good."

"Room was reasonably clean. The bathroom needed a better clean. Leaky taps dripped all night. Breakfast selection was good. Parking was a nightmare when we arrived late one evening. Room key cards got cleared so had to go back to reception which was annoying given it was midnight and we had two tired kids with us."

"Very happy with our weekend stay. Room and bathroom were clean. Air con was a welcome addition in the summer. We were provided with bath and face towels, extra pillows, iron, ironing board, hangers, a safe and two chairs. Also had the usual tea/coffee and kettle. The included breakfast was very good with a good range of options. On site parking is limited and it’s £12/night. But the council-run parking across the road is larger and £7 per use for hotel guests (validated by the reception every time you want to exit). Only improvement I would suggest is to have an additional hook in the bathroom to hang a second towel or to hang clothes."

"The maintenance issues did not take away from the enjoyment of our stay. However, for the price, I think it fell short of expectation. The taps did not turn properly, the sinks, shower and tub did not drain, the 4 poster bed was repaired by wrapping sheets around the posts (wth?) I think it is very important to note THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING! They did their best with fans, and then - with a very grateful heart - a portable air conditioning unit. The buffet was very good but had zero variation on any day, weekday or weekend. The pub restaurant was also very good. The spa was a wonderful retreat from the heat. A massage and a swim are highly recommended. There are many walking paths and the area is very quiet and calm. Front desk staff were lovely :D"
