"We had an overnight layover in Belgrade and booked Hotel Mar last-minute when we landed through Expedia. As soon as I called to arrange airport transportation, the front desk representative answered with, “Hello Mrs. Marberry,” which immediately impressed me. Although the shuttle wasn’t available at that moment, he carefully explained how to get a taxi from the airport without getting scammed, which I truly appreciated. When we arrived, he was just as professional in person. The hotel lobby was beautiful and spotless. We enjoyed having a drink in the lobby bar, and the waitress was incredibly nice and welcoming — a perfect way to unwind after traveling. Our room was clean, thoughtfully themed, and extremely comfortable. After settling in, we grabbed a bite to eat, and the same gentleman at the front desk arranged a taxi to and from the restaurant for us — excellent service from start to finish. The price was excellent, especially for the level of service and quality we received. Great accommodations, outstanding customer service, and only about 12 minutes from the airport. "Hats off to the hotel managerial team and the helpful staff. I had a wonderful time there. Well-installed, all things needed were in the room. Clean, neat, and good taste. The hotel is located in a mall that is not in great shape; the hotel itself is like an oasis and is really well-furnished especially when compared to its surroundings. The team was exceedingly helpful, ensured that I got to the airport on time to catch an early plane. The price was great. There is a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel, for anyone concerned. "Kitchenette is old, drawers and cabinets full of mice droppings, Wires hanging everywhere, bed was covered with dirty stained blankets instead of bed sheets, mattress was old and worn. Shower is old and needed a makeover. Didn’t drain properly. Other residents were loud and easily heard through the thin walls. Parking was a problem as we. One star rating was generous. Sadly too many issues overall. "
