The hotel cancelled our stay at 21:00 in the evening, leaving a hastily garbled message that our room wasn't available due to "maintenance."
Interestingly, we were actually unable to attend due to a medical emergency, and were in the process of seeing if we could get a refund (though we knew it was unlikely) when they called us, obliviously unaware of our ongoing refund request.
HOWEVER, they refused ALL refund requests from expedia, lying and saying that we HAD attended, and that they can confirm we were at the hotel and used the room.
All this despite the fact that THEY cancelled on us, with a voicemail to prove it. And that I wasn't within 50 miles of the place.
Look through the reviews, they've done this kind of thing before - as well as the fact that the hotel is not the Highland City Center, but actually "Oyo" hotel, or possibly Brentwood?
This place is clearly a scam - either they have massively fewer rooms than they claim for whatever reason, or it is a simple scam where they frequently cancel on people for monetary benefit.
Expedia refused to do anything about them, continuously siding with them for some reason, but did issue a discretionary refund on their end after about 2 hours on the phone.
Goes without saying, but: Avoid.
