"I'm a pretty patient and tolerant person and usually a big fan of the Fairmont, but this was probably the most disappointing stay I've ever experienced. The room we got looked nothing like the room I thought I booked online. It was clean but definitely needed an update. Ok so the hotel isn't fully renovated. I get it. I also get that the service might be a little slow since it's offseason, but I didn't expect to wait an hour from the time we put in a lunch order to the time it got delivered...

Railway Trail runs along the north side of the island. As you walk, you'll go in old train tunnels, walk under tropical canopies, and stroll on the grass "sidewalks" until the trail picks up again. There are great views of the ocean, homes, and plants. In Bermuda, you are allowed to paint your house the color of your choice but the roof must be white. This is because there is no fresh water source on the island so each home harvests rain water to use in the home. The water is stored under the house in large tanks. But why white? The white used to be from lime mortar that has anti-bacterial properties, now the the roofs are painted white which reflects UV light from the sun and helps purify the water. If I had a house in Bermuda, it would be teal!
