Learn more about Joseph City

Stop at the iconic Jack Rabbit Trading Post for quirky photo ops with the famous 'HERE IT IS' sign. Dinosaur tracks and the Painted Desert in nearby Petrified Forest National Park offer fascinating day trips from this Route 66 town.

Here it is! One of the strangest yet memorable billboards is located on the former Route 66 (pre-Interstate 40) 5 miles west of Joseph City, Arizona city limits off of Exit 269 on Interstate 40. There is a convenience store across the street which sells strange little souvenirs, Route 66 signs, t-shirts and possibly even snapback trucker mesh caps (outside there's a giant rabbit you can sit on, in case you've always wanted to sit on a giant rabbit). As I stood in front of the billboard, wondering what rabbits had to do with this location, a rabbit ran past me. Question answered. Another "must-see" stop with a lot of Route 66 history. #BvSRoute66
