「We always stay at the Gateway Hotel when visiting Ames. The location is right off highway 30 and close to ISU. We appreciate that they’re dog friendly and only charge $50 per stay, up to one week. This last stay we were disappointed that the coffee offered in the lobby was empty both mornings and it seemed the lady at the desk could not be bothered to make more. The breakfast buffet is NOT included with your stay and ,in my opinion, is not worth the cost. Go across the road to The Filling...

「The staff were very friendly and helpful, my son loved the pool and we enjoyed the hot tub. Waffles, sausage, eggs and others for breakfast, we couldn't have had a better stay!」

「Every staff member that we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The water bottles on check in and rice Krispies for the kids on check out definitely made for huge smiles. My only complaints would be that breakfast was cold and dry on our first morning and the pool was cold.」

「The facility was wonderful however the front desk staff was not. We were first told we did not have a room and then had to find someone to help her. Not professional at all! The pool was out of towels I asked the same front desk person for a towel she begrudgingly got one for me but added "we have a towel shortage". Front desk staff in need of customer service training both in behavior and appearance!」
