"We enjoyed staying at the Maui Kaanapali Villas, comfortable beds, everything was great, loved having the kitchen (though we at out for dinners). The pool was clean and access to the beach easy. Rentals on the beach were a bonus. "
"For the first 3 nights, we were forced to endure staying in a lower floor room. The room was not very well-maintained (e.g., broken thermostat) and was very noisy. It also offered very little privacy considering its proximity to the pool area.
They finally moved us to an upper floor room, which was significantly better in all aspects.
We absolutely loved the beach and the area, and the staff were very friendly. However, the dining options at the hotel were beyond terrible in both quality and price. Beach facilities were also very expensive: $75/day for a beach umbrella was a shock for us - we go to at least 2 seaside vacations every year, and this was the first time we had to pay for umbrellas in the same resort we were staying at. Also, the two pools were very small, crowded, and visibly dirty.
Overall, we managed to enjoy our stay by minimizing our interaction with the resort and its amenities. "
