"The shuttle to pickup/drop off to and from Ogoto Onsen Station was great; otherwise, it would be a 10 minutes walk with luggage! Our tatami room was very traditional and offered a great view of the lake. Only downside is no blackout curtain so the room is nice and BRIGHT at 6 o'clock in the morning! "From the moment of pickup at the Ogoto Onsen station and dropoff, the service was flawless! Check-in is completed while seated in the lobby (rather than standing in queue) and many of the staff speak multiple languages. While the venue is slightly older, it is beautifully maintained and spotless. The 24 component kaiseki dinner is delicious and cheap considering the variety, gorgeous presentation and flavors. N.B. "Hotel is 3mins walk from the train station which was ideal as I was arriving into Omihachiman late at night. The room is clean and spacious. I booked a single room which is just next to the lift but I could not hear noise from they lift lobby. But I could hear the train if it was passing by the track next to the hotel. So the other reviewer was right that they could improve the sound proofing of the windows. I recommend the hotel for it's location. There is another hotel even nearer but New Omi...
